Just remember, all of this success didn't start with the iPhone, it started with a little OS called OSX. It truly reshaped the PC market.

“ only “ 1.65 billion, not 10.5 billion personally I own 5 Apple products..I thought it’s a law every human MUST own at least 3 Apple devices..there are over 3 billions people so it should be 10 billion Appled advices ownage...a very disappointing news..I meant that..

Apple is doomed indeed.

This is exactly why Apple's services & wearables category is exploding, the iPhone is the gate to AirPods, Apple Watch, Apple Music and so on... a sea of users which will never own a Mac, but have an iPhone, AirPods and Apple Music and plan on staying.

I think the main reason is these are really nice products that work well with another and they enrich the lives of their users.

I think the 14" will be the favorite 'sweet' spot for a lot of people. I see the 16" as more niche for the video / music professional.

Same thoughts here, roughly the footprint of the 13” MBP is where the mainstream likes it.

Hmm, I wonder if they have those installment plans for Foxconn workers. Hopefully they just steal them

Not sure why you are focussed on those. Not every production worker can afford the product they are making on the line. But then again there are different products with different price tags available.

The iPod had no connection OS X and has had a big influence on Apple developing iPhones too. But of course, OS X has been the backbone of the Mac for two decades and is crucial for Apple’s Mac success.

I think this too, maybe it could be narrowed a little bit more to what made possible to create a very stable OS and also what made the base of the whole Apple ecosystem.

I can't comprehend they actually built built 1.6 billion devices... I mean how fast can you pump our products?

Its scary to know that one company controls devices of 1 in 8 people in the world. Thats too much power in the hands of too little.

Maybe you can ask those satisfied customers to go elsewhere for their next purchase to even out the power balance between the computer manufacturers to represent your vision better.

I think part of it helps that iPhones are pretty long-lived when you think about it.

I’ve been telling people for years, but the haters don’t get it. These numbers prove that an average iPhone stays in active use several times longer than an average Android phone. Either you keep it for many years, or sell it after a year or two, so the cost of using an iPhone for a year is lower than a mid range Android device. Meanwhile, those second-hand iPhones eventually find their way into the hands of new users whom Apple can go on to monetise in the form of selling them additional accessories, apps and services.

iPhones are also a lot more environmentally friendlier than the competition just by having a much longer lifespan alone.

And the best part? This means that many iPhone users only have just an iPhone and no other apple products. Making them a ripe target for Apple to market even more products to them. So there is actually still a lot of room for Apple to continue growing. Tim Cook was absolutely right to focus on growing the iPhone ecosystem.

It's even scarier then that another company provides an o/s for 7/8 people in the world. Don't know which is worse. One company creating devices that control .125 of the worlds population or another company providing operating systems that control .875 of the worlds population.

you are not wrong, we need more competition. The thing that is in favour of Android is that its supposedly open source so no one really owns it, you can pick it up and create your own version of it kind of like Linux/FreeBSD. Thats what I understood.

I hate Android.

Is there a version of android that has been successfully sold without google services? Only Huawei has been able to get away with it by selling within their own Chinese market, but otherwise, the argument feels mostly academic. You could do so in theory, but the reality is that most won’t, and the few who do haven’t really been financially successful.

It’s also worth noting that many users still only have an iPhone. There is a lot of potential for Apple to continue selling them additional devices, accessories and services in order to round out the whole Apple experience.

In short, for all its size, there is still plenty of room for Apple to grow, especially in the non-iPhone revenue portion.

The end of one decade of expansion, the start of the next decade of growth.
They are so good at up selling you other devices.

When you say Google service you mean Play Store or you mean Android has been programmed to use Google services and software and for you to have a functioning Android you need to replace it with your own servers and services?

Everything. The dessert-named OS that google layers over android, as well as the google apps that come preloaded on certified android devices.
