You are mistaken. All phones in the 5 line are a $269 replacement cost. $199 for 4S and $149 for 4. This is standard across all retail locations in the United States.

no, i am not. I paid 199$ plus tax with the trade in of my other iPhone 5. i have done this 2 times now. theres no reason to argue because i know what i did. thank you for trying to remember what you never saw

wrong. my iPhone 5 was 200$ flat. plus tax. I know this because like I said, I've done it 3-4 times.

With a Google search not turning up anyone else who paid $199 for an Apple Store iPhone 5 OOW replacement, and you not being able to find your three to four two receipts, seems like there's still room for doubt.

Anybody out there done this yet? Apple's site still says $269 for the mail-in option, and doesn't list the $149 for in-store repair.

I was wondering if this is confirmed? If so, I may get my phone done. I am still inside AppleCare, but it doesn't cover my accidentally slightly-cracked glass.

Good News.. I am very happy to read this post.. because i am Replace my iphone screen. Where to Change this parts? any one

That's incorrect. The process is the same in the UK. I went into a UK Apple store earlier this week with a cracked screen and they sent it away for repair.

I have had broken screens replaced at Southampton, Basingstoke, Regent Street and they all were done in the store: they were swapped out for the same model, refurbished.

Yes, this is the process which I described too. Swapped out so that they could carry out the repair off-site.

I've replaced three iPhone screens since the first model. iPhone and iPhone 3 were really easy. It took around ten minutes. The iPhone 4 was pretty white knuckled. I intentionally took it slow - around half an hour. My understanding is the 5 and 5c are on par with the iPhone 4, if not slightly easier, but the 5s? Nope. Too many screws to lose. Too many bits glued in place. I have a small crack on the lower left corner, and it may just stay forever (my others were horrible shatters). I've watched the video and I'm smart enough to know my limits.

The good news is, after watching a teardown of model 6, it looks really simple. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
