I wish i had this option here in Italy ...

I keep going to the main vodaphone store .. (which is a hassle .. middle of the city, crappy parking) and keep hearing that they do not have them, I cannot make a reservation, and there is no direct phone number i can call ..

I can see why you're so concerned, ryanwarsaw, given what they're saying about you behind your back...

Given that I can read what they say I am not so sure I need to be concerned or if it is behind my back. I just think carrying on entire dialogues in Chinese on an English site is not appropriate.

I officially think the white iPhone 4 is a unicorn. You see it in pictures, people talk about it, there are even factions of people that despite the evidence think it really exists......but no real evidence....

Your point? I didn't say it was a bad product, I own an iphone 4 and love it (though I would rather have had white). My point is that the roll out has been one blunder after another: antenna issues (real or perceived), signal strength display issue, proximity sensor issues, shipping delays, glass issues (real or perceived), AND STILL NO WHITE model. And that doesn't include the issues with yellowing on the display caused by the binding of the display to the front glass that some buyers noticed.

Why do you care about these problems if you have an iPhone 4 and love it? You have a phone you love and Apple is doing very well with the iPhone 4 in the face of all these problems. Seems that you like to complain for no reason.

i wish people would quit showing that damn white iphone. its not available and there is no word on it. i find it pointless to always have it up everywhere but you cant order it

Clearly you can't tell the difference between a critical statement and a complaint. If I said "I stepped in dog poop." I wouldn't be complaining, I would simply be making a statement. If I said "Because your dog pooped on the sidewalk I stepped in it!" I'd be complaining.

Aside from that I have a right to complain if I so choose because I had to wait weeks for the proximity sensor issue to finally be resolved. Even so, I was simply pointing out that Apple has really dropped the ball on the roll out of this product, I've not said that the product itself is bad.

It'd be kind of like if someone baked a great cake and then asked you to eat it off the floor. It's still tastes great but wouldn't it be better if you had a plate and a fork?

It's no longer possible to buy sim-free iPhones in London from the Apple Stores, presumably because of the lengthy queues of scalpers that used to congregate. Why Apple can't come up with a simple way to ensure that UK residents could each buy a maximum of one phone each in person without having to order online with a 3-week delay is beyond me, but it must make sense to some Apple employee/graduate intern.

Exactly the same situation in Mexico...

Yes, White ones are available for the Chinese.

According to the photos posted here. The 16 and 32 GB white iPhones are two of the options. WTF!!!

doesn't work

Reservation doesn't fix this problem. Key point is to provide more devices.

Maybe Apple should adopt some socialist style slogans. I don't care if the iPhone is Black or White, as long as I get one for waiting on the line all day.

Apple China is adopting socialist-style rationing. The Chinese should be okay with it, though, because that's how they used to get everything in their stores.

I am just dumbfounded why Apple cannot ratchet up the production of iPhones. Seems to me that Apple is missing out on a huge opportunity to take the lead in the race with Android.

So why didn't they do this for the Canadian launch as well.. We had to suffer (and still do as evident by the line up in front of Apple at the Eaton Centre) with line ups due to scalpers buying unlocked phones for re-sale in the USA. I personally know of quite of few people who gave up with the line ups and constant shortages of iphone 4 and went ahead and bought Blackberries.
