Apple Now Says Apple Watch Series 8 and SE 2 Support Bluetooth 5.3

When I go for a run, I pair AirPods with Apple Watch. AirPods Pro 2 has Bluetooth 5.3, which can improve the battery life and connectivity with Apple Watch Series 8, Ultra, and iPhone 14 series.

BLE is not usually used for streaming music. Normally notifications, basic data updates. Not continuous streams.

Have a very good look at the Applications section not just the top paragraph.

Bluetooth 5.2/5.3 should’ve brought hi-Res audio to the AirPOds Pro yet didn’t. A MAJOR miss by Apple and unsure why. Maybe it’s coming soon or early next year?!

LE Audio appears to be the magic bullet for AirPods, whenever they deploy it.

Still lossy, but with more efficiency. I’d take an extra few hours of battery life over a lossless stream.
