Apple should have let Fujitsu kepp the ipad trademark. itablet, islate, or perhaps something like iPADD as an acronym for Personal Access Display Device, would have been preferable.
 
Given the fact that Fujitsu makes hard drives for the MacBooks, it was a safe bet that it would give up on iPad name. Keep the name and lose a big hard drive contract. Choice was obvious.
 
I don't think the uproar (or jokes) over the name lasted too long
We don't even have the product in hand yet and it seems to have played out

People fussing over the name now are largely ignored
And those that make the silly jokes (see above) are met with eye rolls
 
I really hope you guys don't think you're original. These jokes and references were old 5 minutes after the rumor of the name iPad was announced. It was at best mildly funny then. Now... not so much. :rolleyes:
In other words, love the name like you. Not going to happen. It's pathetic how some will defend Apple even down to their products' silly names.
