The most you can add is $200, and you can only do it once. It's a cash grab by Apple to boost their revenue numbers.

If they were being altruistic, they'd let you do it more than once over the next month in smaller dollar values. You aren't gonna get 10% off a device purchase with this.

At the very most you get to save $20 by laying out $200 of your money today.

Once per offer, but they've offered this numerous times. I've added $200 to my Apple account at least three or four times in the last few years and gotten the extra $20 each time. Plus, now with the Apple Card, I also get an additional $6 cash back.

Not available in Sweden? :-(

Our family has a 2Tb iCloud plan, as well as watching Netflix every month. There's 2376 SEK we spend every year just like that. But it looks like we can't get a 10% discount on that.
Of course not. They take our money gladly for purchases but never offer their so called bonuses. Terrible customer practices.

Just added $200 to my Apple ID. I also get 3% cash back on the GoldmanSachs Apple Card. So the total bonus is actually $26.00 USD

You added $200 to your Apple ID using your Apple Card. You got the $20 extra in your Apple account, plus $3 cashback at some point on your Apple Card.

Now, the trick is, do you pay the balance of your Apple Card off immediately to avoid interest? Do they charge interest on purchasing Apple 'products' and does that include Apple ID balance adds?

All purchases with Apple Card are subject to potential interest except an iPhone on the installment plan. Paying off the card in full every month is a no brainer. For any card; otherwise “cash back” is just a discount on the interest when you think about it.

We bought two 16" MacBook Pros fully loaded the last week in December. I got my military 10% discount, a 6% cash back on the Apple Goldman Sachs card (available for December) and shipped them to my Indiana address where the sales tax is 2% lower than in Arizona. Picked them up in January during a trip to Indiana. That 18% discounted price is now where some of the discounters are selling now.

For the folks complaining, find something else to complain about and simply not do it. I have recurring services that I don’t mind saving a bit of money on.
We will complain as we wish. The fact you have recurring services is your choice/problem.:(

Funny... I see this as a savings to me because I give Apple a chunk of change for movies, iCloud storage, and other things. I'm actually happy Apple is giving me the opportunity to save money.

The hatred and backlash against Apple for this is extremely off-putting to me. I imagine the same people would bash Apple if they hadn't offered to save people $ by not doing this. People just love to be outraged at everything and anything these days.

thank you! people will complain regardless)

It's not uncommon to find $100 iTunes gift cards for $85 at places like Costco. (They're not offering that right now, but I'm sure they will again.) If you can wait, it's a better deal! (15% discount vs. this offer, which is a 9% discount.)

ok, no one is making you pile anything. those who were running low on their apple id account, can get a discount - why don't you try to look at it that way?
Exactly. I will most likely use it all over time. Only ? I have is does your balance ever expire?

In the US, gift cards can’t expire. That said, the 10% bonus isn’t technically a gift card but I’ve never heard of Apple differentiating the two.

I saw this and gave it a try, and the 10% bonus didn't work for me, at least not the way I did it.

I should say I never saw the screen that mentioned the 10% bonus as shown in the MacRumors article, so maybe that is a prerequisite?

I live in China but my Apple ID is linked to the US App Store. I went online and bought ten $10 US iTunes gift certificates (it's the easiest way for me to add money to my account).

I entered the gift certificates code and got the $10 for each one, for a total of $100, but at the end of it there was no 10% bonus for me. I'm not blaming MacRumors for anything, just sharing my experience. I'm used to things not working out for me.

So don't do it the way I did it.
