Free AirPods? No problem. Charging brick? WAY too expensive.
odd comparison - this promo, obviously will not run forever...

To be taken as more of a jokeodd comparison - this promo, obviously will not run forever...
It's already been proven that companies just move to other countries with lower taxes, having them here and using a few loop holes is better than them leaving completely and not getting any taxes from them. It’s not as simple as just closing tax loop holes. Some of the tax loop holes are to keep them in the city/county/state/country they are in.Unfortunately that just shows how all companies aren’t paying their fare share in taxes and if all the loop holes were closed the state of our nation would be significantly improved.
Pretty sure that’s iPad Pro 2020 camera.
What do you mean by that? It hasn't changed much... for example, clicking on "iPhone 11" brings up product info, but clicking further on "buy" skips that and takes you right to the purchase page. That's how it's been for as long as I can remember.I wish the „Apple store“ website would actually come back. I hate how it’s merged with product information. It’s a mess to navigate in my opinion

With as much tax money as Apple, a trillion dollar corporation, has stashed in Ireland, the LEAST they could do is give Americans free AirPods with a new iPhone purchase. In a way this is almost an insult to the consumer.
us is also the biggest apple customer, not giving your best customer base the same or better treatment is a bad look no matter how you look at it.Apple is the biggest tax payer in the United States.
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t huhBeing the biggest tax payer isn't proof of anything
I agree with this sentiment. It's already been proven that companies just move to other countries with lower taxes, having them here and using a few loop holes is better than them leaving completely and not getting any taxes from them. Well, that’s insane. They could as well include the AirPods Pro then and still not equalize the price.I did a quick pricing comparison(INR converted to USD):
iPhone 11 Pro Max 256 GB SIM Free:
India Store: USD 1806 before taxes(₹1,31,900 in Indian rupees)
US Store: USD 1249 before taxes
Approx. USD 550 cheaper in US.
yup, that's the plan and Apple needs more market penetration in the Indian market.More likely they are trying to get some publicity for the new online store in india, and sell some stock before iphone 12 comes out.
incoming! So,e have already arrived 😂Incoming: Whiny and entitled Americans.
entitled ones have arrived 🤣. Have you ran a profit making company or ony charity foundations? With as much tax money as Apple, a trillion dollar corporation, has stashed in Ireland, the LEAST they could do is give Americans free AirPods with a new iPhone purchase. In a way this is almost an insult to the consumer.
Haters gotta hate 🤣Being the biggest tax payer isn't proof of anything
They need to do this to have more market presence in India. It's a different market altogether compared to the US. That's why they have kept changing the country manager. This one seems to know what he's doing this time. This is so Samsung-like. Apple prides itself in not offering promos or discounting older products - shouldn't they be worried about damage to their brand image here?
Are there country specific reasons for why is so expensive? Are equivalent android phones as expensive? Genuinely curious as from my very minor understanding on this, the vast majority of the population wouldn’t be able to comfortably acquire this and only a few of the more privileged ‘castes’ there could.
Great, thanks for the clarification. The Indian government has always had relatively high import duties on electronic items, cars, luxury goods etc. This is to encourage manufacturing within the country. There are pros and cons to this. But end of the day, the consumers suffer. The upper middle class can afford these iPhones, but when our US friends pay a lot less for these items, it is off-putting. End of the day, the middle class wants "value for money". We have been paying more than 30% import duty on these items for decades. Hopefully Apple bringing manufacturing within India will drive down these costs.
But nope for the US or anywhere else, yeah? Cool, cool.

I love the idea as long as it comes with the expected $100 price drop on the phone itself.
That would be super competitive
