Everytime MacRumors post something like this, people get confused all the time. There's still a lot of people don't understand the difference between App Store and Apple Store app. And that happens here in this forum, how much more just regular people will really get confused on this.

Pretty sad considering the Macrumors article even details the instructions for how to get the free app. It's like these people didn't even read the article.

Anyway, thanks to Macrumors for the tip. Managed to download the app with no problem.;)

That's Apple --- they're selling new, not servicing old --- you want in, he's your answer

" Optimized for the 9.7" iPad Pro, iPhone 6S, 6S+, and SE "

And NOT optimized for the 12.9" iPad Pro - that's curious. There's always someone without a chair at the table.

I have a new iPhone 6!
I can't update to iOS 9!

I got there in the end but even that was confusing as it asks you to scan a code with the built in camera. The code is already filled in so you don't need to do anything but it's not immediately obvious when it first pops up.

Thanks for this. I was sitting at that screen for a few minutes going ... wait a minute, what?? Had to see your post to know what to do next. lol.

Edit: This app is pretty cool!

The article has been edited since it was first posted, there was originally a link to the Brushstroke app (in the App Store) which caught me out.

Checked ALL my settings on my 9.7 iPP --- still can't pull-up a photo from my Photos album with this free App.

EDIT: Up and running - missed a toggle.

Get this: Brushstroke app works on iOS 8.1 or higher yet those of us using iOS 8 can't get the app for free because the Apple Store requires iOS 9.3 or higher.
Tim, Please stop poking iOS 8 users in the eye, we're really getting tired of this game your playing.

The only way around that is to redeem from iTunes on a computer using your Apple ID that you use on your phone.
I had to do it for a different app - the redeem part on iOS said it's not compatible with my current iOS version, yet when I redeemed on iTunes, then went to download from the app's listing on the iOS device, it told me it wasn't compatible then let me download an earlier version that was compatible.

No good if you don't have a computer to run iTunes on, though.

How do I download Brushstroke again or get it onto my other iPhone? It doesn't show up under purchases and iTunes won't transfer purchased apps in iOS9.
