My company lets you use sick time for any doctor visit. I've got my vaccination scheduled, and will be using some sick time that day.

I understand the sarcasm, but I don’t think anyone has ever complained about a private company taking a decision that touches the personal wallet of the company itself. It’s probably one of the few things left and right agree on.
A man named Dan Price begun paying his workers a minimum of $70,000 per year. Rush Limbaugh, God rest his soul, said “I hope this company is a case study in MBA programs on how socialism does not work, because it’s gonna’ fail.”

To some, anything that helps out working people is socialism.

I'm really surprised Apple isn't buying batches of the vaccines and bringing in nurses to administer them for employees.
It would essentially come out as "cutting in line", and considering the compensation Apple employees get (or at the very least the assumption of it considering the value of Apple), it would def look like the rich cutting in line past those more in the front lines or at risk.

Ok, Mr. Limbaugh was wrong in his evaluation as what Mr. Price did wasn't comparable to socialism in any way or form.

I think that's highly dependent on the position/job and company. I know people that consider on-site work as a perk. Your own 50 sq. ft. office with a pair of 27" monitors, great furniture, access to company facilities, ergonomist, brewed coffee, restaurants, etc. Not to mention the much needed social connections at the workplace.
Totally Agree, I fall into the side of now it's been proven (in my company at least) that working from home is effective then I'd be more than happy to go back in 2-3 days a week with the other days WFH.

Personally I miss the interaction and change of scenery but also like the odd day where I don't need to commute in to work.

I'm lucky that my employer decided to build a purpose built campus before lockdown, the campus was originally designed to hold 5,000 but lockdown hit mid construction so my employers adapted. They still intend to fill out the 5,000 jobs using the same size of campus but the interiors have been redesigned for distancing and reduced occupancy.

Vaccines are not for sale to private companies. Distributed by the government to health care providers. Everyone needs to get in line, no special privileges for Apple. Best Apple can do is help their employees find out where to get vaccinated and how to get in the queue.

I wonder if the government is going to provide immunity to companies who have to deal with employees who refuse to get vaccines?

My opinion is that any impacts supposedly caused by a virus will be classified as an "Act of God" and no liability will be expected of any party. The company most likely provides health benefits and supplemental life insurance for anyone having adverse experiences.

Never underestimate people's willingness to express anonymous online outrage about anything.

Paid time off to get vaccinated? Evil socialism! That's the scary stuff they do in Europe, not in the States.
If you're going to troll, at least do a smarter job of it. Socialism is about state control of the means of production, not the laudable actions of private corporations. As an ardent capitalist myself, I am happy to see Apple do this. But it's no more than what I expect of them. As small business owner myself, not necessarily thriving during COVID, I did exactly the same. I don't want there to be any barriers to any of my people getting vaccinated.
