Apple is offering users of its Apple Store app free redeem codes to download photo editing app Infltr. Usually $1.99, the acclaimed photo app for iPhone and iPad offers more than 7 million possible filters thanks to a sophisticated color gradient mapping algorithm, and lets users choose a filter before they take a picture or record video.

Moving a finger in any direction over the screen causes the photo filter to change its hue, while double-tapping shuffles the filter for a random pot-luck effect. Users can save customized filters to their collection, which can be synchronized to an online account to make it available on multiple devices.

Using 3D Touch gestures on supporting iPhones brings up a secondary menu that flips the camera front or back, lets users enable Live Photo, add vignette, and change the flash setting.

Infltr can be used to edit photos, videos, animated GIFs, and DSLR shots in HD without a loss in resolution, using over 10 included adjustment and transform tools. Users can also apply Infltr filters to the live camera feed while in iMessage.

Infltr is compatible with Apple Watch, allowing wearers to shoot remotely and adjust filters using the Digital Crown. The app also features an optional Home screen/Notification center widget that showcases new curated filters on a daily basis.

To get the app, first download the free Apple Store app [Direct Link]. The Infltr offer is featured in the Discover section on the main store screen. Offer ends August 15.

Update: Users running the iOS 11 public beta appear unable to redeem the offer through the Apple Store app.

Not working on iOS 11 Beta 3 (Public Beta 2). Not sure about iOS 10, asking to enter a code but surely it should be entered already?

Of course, this is country limited. Honestly, I hate Apple for doing these things with apps, why do they have to restrict everything?
It isn’t Apple doing anything. Apple only sells the apps in the countries that the developers of the app have chosen to sell their app. And developers choose to sell in certain countries based on their resources; localization, tech support availabilty, etc.

Anyone managed to get it on iOS 11 Beta? I'm not downgrading just for 1 crappy app. Thinking about signing into friends iDevice and then logging out once the code has redeemed on my Apple ID

Can’t find a work around for the 11b3/pb2 issue and apple support (called them) couldn’t provide a code for me to try sadly.

Found a work around for Beta users:
  • Find an iDevice running any version below iOS 11 (this could even be one in an Apple store if they're not in Demo Mode)
  • In settings, log out of the Apple ID currently logged in
  • Log in with your Apple ID
  • Go to App Store, download Apple Store app and redeem code
  • Delete Infltr once it has installed
  • Log out of your Apple ID and log back in with the one that was logged in before
  • You now should have the cloud download icon when you search for Infltr on your primary iDevice, if it still comes up with the price you may need to log out of your Apple ID and log back in to your primary iDevice
This looks long step-by-step but it really took me about 2 minutes.

Is this app any good? Pretty crappy rating in App Store for iPhone version.

It's pretty basic, similar to Instagram's filter options but you get a lot more choice, comes with a few photo-tweaking options like Hue, Saturation etc... Certainly should be free in my opinion but the app devs have to make money somewhere.

How did you get a redeem code?
It's a generic code in the box, not your code- I can't find any way to get your code displayed.

One other note for those who want to try some other iOS device (like at a Apple store ) the device MUST be running iOS 10. The Apple Store App will not work on devices running less than 10 and this part of the app store is broken (in fact LOTS of the new app store app is broken) on 11.

[doublepost=1499976937][/doublepost]And by doing that you didn't lock your friend's iOS device to your Apple ID for the next 90 days?

Devices can only be associated with an Apple device every 90 days.

As much as it pains me that I can't get the app, I rarely use filters outside of the Instagram app, so I'll just pass for now. I can't see Apple rushing a fix for a free app :p
