Apple is offering users of its official Apple Store app free redeem codes to download Plotagraph+ Photo Animator from the App Store. Usually $4.99, the iOS app allows users to animate any still photo into a seamlessly looping video or animated PNG.

Users create a Plotagraph by selecting or taking a photo, creating an animation track to indicate the direction of movement, and masking areas of the image they don't want to animate. It's then possible to adjust the animation speed and save the final result to the Camera Roll or share it as a video, GIF, or animated PNG using custom presets.

The editing interface features a range of tools for manipulating images, including an animation tool, selection tool, instant playback, mask, eraser, crop presets, anchor points, pinch zoom, Apple Pencil pressure sensitivity, real-time animation speed control, and multiple export options.

To get the app from the App Store, first download the free Apple Store app [Direct Link]. Then simply open the app, and the Plotagraph+ offer can be found further down in the Discover section on the main store screen. The offer looks like it's working for users in the U.S. and U.K. at the time of writing. Apple has extended its redeem codes to other countries in the past, so it's still worth checking for the offer if you're based elsewhere - let us know in the comments below if you have any success. Offer ends January 15, 2018.

Yeah, it seems that way. There hasn’t been a free app of the week since iOS 11 was released.

At last, some good news, instead of the usual over-hyped nonsense.

Make sure you’re looking on the Apple Store app and not the App Store app.

Was able to download via iOS but when iTunes tries to download it I get a "stopped (err = 404) message in iTunes. When I try again it says 'The URL "^0" could not be found on the server.'
Then when I delete it from the Activity window it crashes iTunes and I have to reboot because of an iTunes error message.
Every time I try to launch iTunes it keeps giving me this error. What now? I have to live with this forever? How do I un-purchase it so iTunes doesn't keep downloading purchased content.
(what's going on with MR, I just got a "An unexpected database error occurred. Please try again later." in the forum?)

I just downloaded it and played around with it a bit. The app reminds me of those backlit pictures of waterfalls and streams, where it creates an illusion of water flowing. That's about all this app appears to do. Some of the results are downright creepy, like the molten field of wheat and the kid who's getting eternally consumed by a lawn.

I redeemed the offer in the Apple Store, but for some reason an older version of the app "Plotagraph" not "Plotagrapah + Photo Animatation" started downloading.

When I tried to install I get a message saying "This app is no longer available..."

When I go the App Store my purchase history shows the old app.
The new app shows the full purchase price.

When I go back to the Apple Store it tells me I have already redeemed the offer.

    Any ideas?
