This is directly related to unnecessary Datacenter arms race raising prices for everyone.
Apple is basically now a subscription company. It doesn’t seem to be a mainly hardware or software company any longer… just pivoted to using overpriced hardware/software to now push overpriced subscriptions like every other ens***ification company is doing out there these days.
None of the companies will stop this descent into subscription hell. Leaving the station is the only way out for individual customers at this point. And that’s sad.
I’m glad I made the change to reduce my iCloud usage just down to 50GB.So it begins. 😠
I wonder what my iCloud 2TB price is going up to.
My assumption has been from $9.99 to $11.99
I’m sure you don’t ask for raises within your job either right? This should be illegal

Yeah... but that extra $2.00 a month (7 cents per day) is apparently going to crush a lot of people here.
We have Apple One Premier. We use Music, TV, News, and Fitness. The bundled discount makes sense for us. Albeit, I keep trying to find a way to save $I decided to cancel Apple One a few months back and try the alternatives out there... I thought I would miss One, but between the local library's online offerings and online streaming, I haven't missed it at all and used the extra $40 this month for something else I'd been wanting.
Agree. there is a lot of real FUD in the economy right now.If this were the only thing increasing in price, I'm sure not.
You are far too intelligent to not realize the broader picture.
EVERYTHING is going up in price for folks, and for most everyone their income sources aren't even close to keeping pace.
Rather than being dismissing and condescending, perhaps show some compassion.
Well, I am still on the free 5 GB plan and I think I use around 2GB.So it begins. 😠

Buy the music you actually enjoy while you still can. Cancel AM subscription.Maybe but this is the end game. Companies remove physical media/hardware, sell you services you depend on because of it, then raise the prices as they see fit. I’m stuck because Apple Music is my only source and with no free competition what I’m supposed to do…
If this were the only thing increasing in price, I'm sure not.

Everything gets backed up locally, don't use Photos and so on.
This is a 10 percent increase. Apple TV saw a 15.4 percent increase. Average raise over the past 12-month period ending in June 2026 according to Bureau of Labor Statistics is 3.6 percent.I’m sure you don’t ask for raises within your job either right?
The point must have went over your headThis is a 10 percent increase. Average raise over the past 12-month period ending in June 2026 according to Bureau of Labor Statistics is 3.6 percent.
I actually get -some- use out of News+. Some articles I find really interesting are locked behind that stupid paywall, so I eventually caved to try it out. It's a scummy tactic to do to people, but that's the world we live in. Finding unbiased and fact-based reporting is the hard part!Problem is, that Apple One is a pretty poor bundle, since you are being sold useless things or things that have better alternatives.
iCloud aside (which I think could be argued is the only decent offering in that pack), lets see:
Apple Music ---> alternatives include Spotify, which available in more places, along with Deezer, Pandora, etc. It all depends if you music is there. There's also iTunes for buying instead of "renting". I personally think that Apple Music lacks "features" that at this point should have been implemented long ago.
Fitness+ ---> An excuse of an app/service. Plenty of free options in the Internet which are better and probable more aligned with your goals
Apple TV ---> Unless you absolutely don't stream that much, it is the platform with the least content, someone might argue it has better quality, and for sure, I could give it that, but I'm pretty sure other platforms end up winning in variety alone, since at some point, you will end up having watched most of the stuff it offers.
Arcade ----> Apple and gaming are like water and oil. Kids might like it, but I think money could be better spent on a proper console or PC with actual games, rather than de-monetized mobile games. There's also GamePass if one doesnt wants to "buy" games. It doesnt helps its case that a lot of good games have gotten out of the service, and lately, shovelware has made its way in.
News+ -----> The worst of the bunch. As useless as Fitness+ is, but with the twist that it is a mess to use
I’m getting to the point of just cutting back and canceling things I really don’t need. I had to update to the 6TB iCloud+ plan which was triple the amount of the 2TB plan.As a family we're pretty entrenched into the Apple One services, so it'll take a bit to push us over the edge. But every hike makes me glance at the alternatives. It's really just a math problem, and so far I feel like I'm getting my money's worth out of the premium plan. The reality is that *everyone* is hiking their prices, so jumping ship doesn't necessarily save me any money. Yet.
