Apple Online Store Down Ahead of iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Pre-Orders

I'm doing the Pro. Pro Max is going to be too big based on my XS Max.I’m still torn on the 12 Pro vs the 12 Pro Max, and I hate it. Have had both sizes in the past and still don‘t know
So they close the buy section before the event even no device to pre-order right after the event...and now again...

Yes, bec it is highly possible the ipad air goes for pre-orders as well
So I have an X 256GB. It has 202GB left. Looks like 128GB is plenty for me. I like the idea of the Pro. Max just too big for me.
I get why they take the store down before an event, but why do they need to do it even before pre order?
If I want to buy a Mac, an iPad or an accessory, I can't. Just put the banner and then give the possibility to skip it if you're buying something different than an iPhone.

vice versa...why apple close the store before an event IF after that event nothing goes on sales/preorders ?!
Now , since iphones and ipads go for pre-orders we can some how understand
The sad part about all of this is that the majority of iphones will go to 'snipers', people who have no intention of using the phone but selling it on immediatly at a huge markup because they know there are people out there who will be desperate to get one and this goes on every time Apple releases a new product.
I remember reading an article about such practices occuring at the Regent street store in London. Arab and Indian people were paying students to stand in line to get a iphone (giving the student the money to pay for the iphone), they would wait for the student to leave the store with the iphone, an accomplice of the buyer would meet the student to prevent the student from running away with the item, meet the buyer in some alleyway where the buyer would give the student usually £100 for their services and the student would give the buyer the iphone. One of the 'buyers' a reporter spoke to had approx 12 iphones, all of which he was going to sell to wealthy customers in India.
I therefore have no doubt such buyers will do the same again, even with pre-orders. buy up as much as they can thus leaving genuine customers disappointed.

Normally yes but I would always recommend after seeing the preorder holding screen, flicking the app away to close it properly, so you definitely see a page reload. It probably doesn’t make any difference but it takes away some of the anxiety of thinking you are looking at a cached page! Good hunting my friend - I hope you get the version you are chasing! 😁
IKR I’m still trying to find pictures/videos of the real colours of the phones (Pro models). The Apple video has them all uber shiny so you really can’t tell the proper colours. Buying these on the blind feels stupid. I want to see the colours beside the blue one which is the one they are using in all the promos and their site.

I think it says that from whichever product you start when you end up on the store page (sadly!). But still, fingers crossed!
Can’t decide if I want the Mini or the Pro Max. I either want all the camera features possible, or the small size of the mini—having to choose kind of sucks. I wish the “Pro” models were the same and that one was still 5.8”. Had the XR before the Pro Max and always wished it was slightly smaller.
Why does the entire store need to be down for two full hours to add two new products!?

Same here. I ended my dilemma by looking through my last year's photos and asking how many could have used a better night mode, and the answer was 'very few'. Since the camera was my main draw for the Max that clinched it and I'm going with the 12 Pro this year.
Has there been any 'hands on' review where a reviewer has actually had the iphone 12 in there hand? because i remember the last time Apple released an iphone, the iphone section of the forum started filling up with complaints from members who had the phone but complained that the colors did not look like what they were supposed to be in the promotional and marketing material.

if you can afford it and don’t mind the bigger size then there’s no reason not to go Max. Get all of the best features possible and more screen real estate. It’s a no brainer for me.... I’ve been picking the biggest phone since 6 plus

It can only be to build hype....yes it may be annoying, but they know your not going to leave Apple over it, so the hype, frustration, anger, excitement all builds on social media which in turn probably leads to a few thousand more sales globally......but hey I could be way off the Mark lol.
Yup, Apple doesn’t just remove part of the store, their entire product selection is taken off-line, which also includes new graphics and likely a refresh of other product pages. That’s how it’s been for years.
