Apple is opening a second retail store in Hangzhou, China on 701 Fuchun Road in the Jianggan District, less than three months after the company opened its first Apple Store in Hangzhou at West Lake in the Shangcheng District. The new Hangzhou location at the MixC shopping mall is set to open on April 24 at 9:00 AM local time, the same day that the Apple Watch goes on sale in China. Apple will now operate 19 retail stores in China after expanding around the Chinese New Year.

Apple commemorated the opening of its first Hangzhou store in West Lake with a calligraphy video in January, with the store officially opening its doors on January 24 at 9 AM local time. Apple is committed to expanding its presence in China, an emerging and increasingly important market for the company, with retail chief Angela Ahrendts commenting on Apple's expansion into China earlier this year amid five new store openings in the world's most populous country.

Is that the real sky or a photoshopped one? Not trying to be snarky, but that's some of the cleanest looking air I've ever seen in China.

At first I thought the same as well, then remembered that it was just Beijing (and other heavily industrialized cities in China) that had terrible air quality.

Hangzhou's a pretty nice (and a bit quiet) place compared to other major cities in the country (been there twice several years back).

Wonder if apple will start offering exclusive products or services in China, seems like they are targeting that markert.

You know China is as big as the US right? Just because one place you visited had bad air doesn't mean everywhere else has bad air as well.

I'm afraid in my experience - Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Guilin, Suzhou, Jinan... are awful. Consistently at least 2 or 3 times worse than European maximum allowable limits for PM2.5 (there are lots of different calculations for "air quality" so it's hard to make fair comparisons)

Unfortunately, it's pretty bad.

On topic though! For a country with over a billion people, roll out in this market is slow, especially considering the phenomenal expansion Apple is seeing here.

Having said that, there are at least three Apple stores within 20 minutes of me here in Shanghai.

That's not exclusive to China, though should sell well there.
I was half joking. Of course the Edition will not be exclusive to China. It will sell very well there. I think that if it wasn't for the Chinese market Apple may not have been ale to justify making the Edition.

Yeah I think you are right about that

Hence the numerous edition-dedicated pop-up stores in the middle kingdom, oh wait...
