Why Samsung ? If anyone moves to Android the first time, I highly recommend a stock Android phone, like a Pixel 2 XL or OnePlus 5t. Actually I would advise not getting a Samsung, as they are way over hyped to the Joe Blow public.

In my opinion the top 5 smartphones of 2017 would be in this order;

- Pixel 2 XL
- LG V30
- OnePlus 5t
- iPhone X
- Note 8

Definitely opinion on the order. These are all great phones, no doubt. I am quite happy with the Note 8, and the iPhone X didn't even interest me enough to want to try it. Three things I love about my switch from iPhone aren't even available on the others - Samsung Pay, S-Pen, and Gear S3. Those are a big part of my delight with my current kit.

I've had an apple phone for about 4 to 5 years. I made my decision to switch due to apple being a bit boring and also due to the fact I was tired of the hype.
Usually it's huge news when the phones launch and they are usually on back order for a little bit. They usually change the software around every year and and things would just glitch and error from what I've noticed. Random settings would automatically be set and that coupled with the fact that I do not use any of apples services outside of FaceTime occasionally made it seem like a no brainer. I am getting use to the Samsung phone but I do miss the simplicity of apple and just the breeze of day to day usage. I'd say give it a try if you haven't....

After a couple of months I don't feel the Note 8 is any more complicated to use than iOS. It's got more options, but the ones I use are in muscle memory now. When I try to use one of my family members' iPhones, I am confused now.

My brother was pretty confused when he got his iPhone X. Took him a couple days to find control center lol.
