Apple or Third Party Ram

Hi,

I am going to be ordering a 13" Macbook Pro and I was wondering if it is better to upgrade the RAM to 4GB through apple when im ordering or just order the baseline 2GB model and buy 4GB of Crucial ram and do the upgrade myself after?

Letting Apple do it is working out at just £10 more than buying the Crucial ram so im thinking its probably better to just save myself the hassle and get 4GB from the get-go but I am unsure if the Crucial ram would be faster/better than the Apple ram?

I can't speak to performance, but: if you do go third-party and ever have to send your computer in for repair, make sure you pull out the third-party and put the OEM back in, as Apple is notorious for ram stealing.

There's no difference in performance between the Crucial RAM and that which comes from Apple. Apple doesn't make RAM. It's all 3rd party.
