Does apple still do replacement for these, if so better to take to them or maybe to buy the pieces online ? Other options ? Thanks!

Apple does not replace the original iPhone anymore. They usually stop replacing it once it ceases to be mentioned on their website.

I am impressed that your iPhone apparently survived a trip to (and return from) low earth orbit.

It got scuffed up a little on the way back down, but the fact that it works at all is pretty amazing.

you can most likely buy replacement parts on Ebay I'm not going to say these are official parts but should work. also a replacement phone would cost you about $80 the same model..

The iPod Repair Clinic in LA told me about a year ago that it would cost more to order the part and replace it than it would to just get a whole phone on eBay or Craig's list. A year later the case for a new phone is even stronger.

Wow, well you can say one thing about the old iphones - they were certainly sturdier than the 4/4s! I don't think I've ever seen a phone that scuffed/scratched up, but still have an intact screen + be working. Nice.

....though on a second glance it does look like there might be a crack in the screen...

The phone works 100% fine guys loll thanks for ya help!

I've got a 3rd gen iPod Nano that looks about as bad. It's been to OCS, Iraq and Afghanistan with me and was blown out of my plate carrier once.

Looks like hell, but still works great. The whole design language from 2007 was damn near bomb proof.
