I have this break in my apple pages document that won't go away (see attached screen shots, one of which shows invisibles). I don't know if this is a page break or a section break (I've watched many videos on how to get rid of those) or something else entirely, but it simply won't go away no matter what I do. Any idea how to get ride of this thing? I just want it normal so text can go on this bottom part of the page, but no matter what I do, it skips down to the next page for the rest of the text on this document. This is in the middle of a 13 page document.

Did you check the Document Options? You can turn e.g. the footer section simply off or adjust them there.

Thanks for your response, but turning off the footer didn't seem to do anything.
I think this might make sense that it didn't work because if this was an issue with the footer, wouldn't it be appearing on all pages instead of just one? (sorry if I didn't explain that well before)
So I still don't know what this is or why it seems to be an untouchable part of the document.
If you have any other ideas, or if I'm not understanding correctly, please let me know.

It's actually doing this in two different places in the document now.

It sounds like you’ve tried all the normal troubleshooting. What I would do next is select all the text and copy it, and then open a brand new pages document and paste it there.

If the issue occurs in a new document then it is something in the text or formatting to look at.

What version of Pages? If you select some text above and below these page breaks (a selection which continues over this break) and delete it, does the page break stays in place? Otherwise @sahnert ’s advice is the one to follow.

There's a lot of things that that line could be. If you print the page, is it there (in the printout)? There are a variety of lines & marks that can show on Pages pages that aren't actually there. Here for example is a variety of lines easily shown in pages via various tools and settings...

PagesLines.jpg

NONE of those will print on the page and some of them can come in any color. And here's a few more mysterious lines, some of which will print because some other things are inserted on the page...

Consider making the single page Pages document available for download so that others could open it, see the line and figure it out. No content (or Lorem Ipsum if it only shows with some content) necessary.

Another Fishrrman "remarkably stupid trick" to try:

Open the Pages document that is giving you trouble.

Now, open a NEW (empty) Pages document, so both are on the desktop.

Next, copy "everything up from" the "bad page". Paste that into the new document.

Does the paste go ok?

Alright, now scroll past "the bad area" in the problem document.
Select the good text and expand the selection downward so you have "the rest" of the document.

Now paste that into the new document.

The goal is to copy/paste everything EXCEPT "the bad area".

Does this work?
