I've never had any issues with the intel chips, we've had them since the iPhone 7 in the UK and I've had every iPhone since then and had no issues. However if Intel can't provide 5G modems then this deal is a win for Apple and a win for the consumer.

You mean erikcsson parents.

You think Erickson’s patents are worthless
Not quite worthless but worth far less than Qualcomm. Also using inexpensive patents as an (excuse me) Apple to Apple comparison when it was really Apple to Orange

Also:
"On Tuesday, Apple lawyer Ruffin Cordell used comparatively inexpensive patent licenses Apple had signed with companies like Ericsson and Huawei to show how Qualcomm was price gouging. In court, Cordell said a group of those patents was twice the size of Qualcomm’s but had cost Apple a fraction of the cost. “Does that make any sense? Is that fair and reasonable?” he asked the jury."

They had a plan to spread disinformation and discredit Qualcomm based on these articles.
I think they settled based on damning internal memos that came to light during discovery. IMHO.

I heard about this plan to discredit Qualcomm on Macbreak weekly. Pretty shady if it’s true.

Why on earth would anyone think that Ericsson's patents are somehow worthless ?! Until I see when Apple starts contributing to 3GPP then Apple faithfuls should learn to shut it instead falling back on blind loyalty to avert the failure of their own favourite corporation to innovate ...

Ericsson does not deal with modems but if it weren't for some of their contributions to 5G radio access network technology which is a part of 5G infrastructure then the current 5G New Radio specification would not work the way it is today. It infuriates me to no end that people here like techwiz would make their statements founded in ignorance to the reality that 5G is meant to be a collaborative effort ...

I'm convinced that if Apple are serving users like these then they are not deserving of the technology. If Apple wants to set their own standards then by all means they should put their money where their mouths are and bring out a competing standard against 3GPP's and see if ANY mobile network operators will adopt it because NOT ONCE have I've seen Apple contribute to a global standard in the last decade!

If Apple fans don't like any of this then they should demand Apple that they make their own switches, antenna, radio interface as well as the core networks! In fact, I DARE Apple to make their own alternative to 5G and I DARE them to compete not only against Qualcomm in modems but in network infrastructure equipment as well which includes Ericsson, Huawei, and Samsung!
