Maybe someday Apple will hold a World Wide General Public Conference. But it makes little sense to invite the general public to the World Wide DEVELOPER Conference.

They used to have the MW SF and MS Boston conferences. Those were lots of fun (to watch at home, for me).

I'm not sure if you understand the context differences between a brief voluntary visit for a special event and regular mandatory attendance.
