Apple Partnering With American Express to Bring Apple Pay to Canada, Australia, Spain, Singapore and Hong Kong

Have they ever in the past though? I know they have their announcements for the new version at WWDC, but I'm not aware of them ever having an announcement for incremental updates (besides the whole Apple Music 8.4 event). Really hoping for something formal from Apple in the near future.
 
Apple will formally announce Apple Pay in Australia and Canada as they did for the UK. The IOS update to access this will roll out at the same time.
If you try to add a card now it won't work unless you switch your country to USA or UK.

Rumours here are saying Nov. 30th.

There doesn't need to be an IOS update. Apple have a URL that the Wallet checks every 24 hours to see if Apple Pay is available in your region.
