For comparison, Square sent around an offer yesterday, an Apple PayNFC and chip'n pin device that appears to be the same size.

They advertise free, but that means they refund your first $49.95 in transactions fees. After that it's Square: no monthly fee.

Next announcement should be Paypal, only recently in the card reader market.

PayPal has a chip and PIN, NFC, and swipe all in one reader for $99 announced a few days ago for the U.S. market. imo they have the best looking one as it literally looks like a reader in the store., with its own LCD and everything.

Good to see this, ApplePay everywhere! I was happy to see Trader Joe's now accepts ApplePay, but they still make you go through all the menus and sign!?

Interesting that none of these guys (PayPal, Square, PayAnywhere) mention support for Apple Watch. Maybe awaiting the Sept 9th event?

They don't need to. The watch works the same way as the phone for making payments. If it takes Apple Pay, it takes Apple Pay.

I was not making a technical observation but a marketing / PR observation, but, I actually mis-read what the "compatible" list meant, so, scratch my comment.

It's good that Apple is supporting small retailers to utilize Apple Pay.
Now only if Apple will also extend their Apple Pay not just in US and UK.

What do you mean? Apple Watch supports Apple Pay. I would assume these readers also accept Google Wallet/Android Pay/Samsung Wallet, since they're still NFC.

Do you have a link for that? I couldn't find any mention of it.

I misinterpreted what "supported" meant in their (PayPal, Square, PayAnywhere) list of "supported devices". Scratch my original comment.
