He also must have worked in hardware development testing as well. The head and hands explain why Apple shipped these...

gaze control ??

creepy...

A finger isn't useful enough anymore ? Wow, that was short lived.

So, we may start seeing users eyes suddenly looking in all directions, and u ask "What are u doing", and the reply would be "I'm moving the cursor on my iOS device"

Still.... creepy.

I'm not 100% certain, but I feel like Apple had patents on eye tracking software dating back to at least 2-3 years ago and being reported here on MR? Perhaps it was around the same time that Samsung was trying to implement this tech into their Galaxy smartphone lineup? I checked the web but couldn't find anything other than this most recent development. Doubt I imagined this so any help is appreciated.

*EDIT: was probably this: https://www.macrumors.com/2010/09/20/apple-reportedly-purchases-face-recognition-company-polar-rose/

or this: https://www.macrumors.com/2012/05/2...ts-with-optical-tracking-and-haptic-feedback/

Okay, so not exactly patents per say, but they were kicking the tires on this tech.

That second Apple mouse, the laser one with the trackball is the best mouse ever invented. I honestly couldn't live or work without one. (No hyperbole here.)

Now we have the answer why Apple didn't think stylus is a solution, since even touch screen is not soon because later on they will introduce Stare Screen!!

maybe we can introduce a floating phone with stare screen. It will definitely look cool.

okay, i played too much online game with summons.

another instance of apple throwing ideas at the patent office, despite prior art, and the patent office goign "MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and approving it.

it would never hold up in court.

Apple does seem to be obsessed with anything that grabs the attention of the public, no matter the topic. Seems to reflect it's narcissistic culture as embedded by the prior CEO.
