If you're having problems using your Apple Card, Apple Cash, Apple Pay, or the Wallet app, you're not alone. According to Apple's System Status page, there is an ongoing issue affecting these services.

Apple says that some users may be experiencing issues with Apple Card, Apple Cash, Apple Pay, or Wallet, and there are multiple complaints on social media sites about Apple Pay and other features not working.

The outage has been ongoing since 11:44 a.m. Eastern Time. We'll update this article when the services are back online.

Update 2:13 p.m. Eastern Time: Apple says the issues have been addressed.

Tap to pay failed on me 3 time this morning trying to buy coffee and then I tried to order through the app and pay with Apple Pay, it spun for about 60 sec and then failed. I had to run out to my car and get my physical debit card...lol. Also, I paid the monthly balance on my Apple card last night and, typically, the available credit reflects the payment right away. It's not, though that is not the first time that has happened, so I don't know if it is related.

Luckily, some people have the option to use another NFC payment method

Though some people here insist this is a bad thing.

was just at Publix and somebody was having problems paying with Apple Pay, Charleston, SC. I tapped to pay with Mastercard and kept it moving

This is why (fortunately) both my bank debit card and my credit card have the option of tap-to-pay so I can make payments without needing Apple Pay.
I kind of stopped caring for using Apple Pay for in person payments once all my cards got tap to pay since I'm old school and don't care about living my entire life on the phone lifestyle

I had to delete, and re add my two cards.

Only problem is, one of my cards wants me to phone the bank for verification on my Macs, whereas on my iPhone and iPad I could use the app.

What a ******* mess!

I was trying to order my food at Panera when I ran into this. I got “payment not processed” twice and “try again” once, with three different cards, before the transaction finally went through with the Apple Card.

Unlike the one poster earlier though, my soup was pretty good. I wasn’t a fan of the croissant bread, however, both combinations of ingredients were otherwise delicious.
Used my Apple Card about an hour ago, worked, but the transaction doesn’t show in the wallet.
Same. I’m part of an Apple Card Family account, if that made a difference.

One nice thing about tap-to-pay is that the transaction does not transmit the credit card information itself. As such, it uses a special encoded data transfer that is essentially just about impossible for a hacker to access. This is even more secure than the EMV chip found on most debit and credit cards since 2013 in the USA.
