Apple Pay asks for passcode during transaction

hi all,

I use Apple Pay a fair bit here in London, but whenever I double-click my lock button on my iPhone X, rather than using Face ID, my iPhone asks me to pay using my passcode.

I'd rather use Face ID to pay, is there any way to encourage my iPhone to use Face ID in this case? It happens on all my registered.

One of the updates after iOS 13 changed the setting for me. The "wallet" setting under Touch ID & Passcode (probably Face ID & Passcode on yours) was turned off. Switching that on should solve it for you.
