A friend paid me for a $90 concert ticket on Saturday (December 9th) via Apple Pay Cash. It took around an hour, but I eventually got my iPhone set up to receive it.
The transactions screen shows that it was “Received” at 17:07 and “Completed” at 18:26 on the same day.
Today, I went to use Apple Pay at the store - my credit and debit card showed up fine, same as always, but not the Apple Pay Cash card.
Wallet shows the card is still “Activating”.
Fine, whatever, I’ll just shift the $90 over to my debit card, right? Nope - can’t transfer money while the card is “Activating”.
WTF? Apple’s support page says the money should be available “instantly”. We’re less than a day from it having been a full day since the money was transferred to me, and the funds still aren’t available.
Has anybody else used Apple Pay Cash yet? How long did Activating the card take for anyone else? Is there any troubleshooting I can/should do? At what point should I call Apple?
This seems criminally bad to me. I didn’t have anywhere near as much trouble setting up Venmo or sending or receiving money with that. Apple is literally sitting on my money.
I keep wondering if maybe my iPhone 6+ will be my final Apple product. QA seems to have gone out the window at Apple - they just keep raising their prices for no reason while simultaneously lowering quality.
