Then you need to start lobbying Petro-Canada to get the deal negotiated with CIBC and Apple. The only reason that would be delayed is if they're doing a revenue share with CIBC on the transaction fees. They'll have to agree to a cut in their share to make up for the share that Apple's taking.

They have an agreement, the issue was the Petro points were not going on the Petro Canada points card when using Apple Pay and the CIBC Petro points Mastercard. After one day they realized this and disabled Apple Pay on the CIBC Petro points master card.

Ah, ok, then they only missed a step in their processing logic. They should be able to get that sorted out easily enough.

I think the real reason was because it was not awarding the 2 cents per litre discount at Petro, because I received a $10 credit for the inconvenience. I use this card exclusively with Apple Pay and still receive my points. Until they figure out how to incorporate the instant fuel savings into Apple Pay, they won't allow any new clients to add their cards.

anyone got this working with canadian tire mastercard? The 3 places I tried it at all showed declined. It didn't even take enough time to connect with MasterCard, it simply said declined within half a second.

Paid with the card itself and it went through just fine.

Yes I got my Canadian Tire credit card activated with Apple Pay. It went threw on the first try without any problems. I haven't tried lately to activate it as its already activated. Not sure why it isn't going threw on your end. Have you tried calling the customer service number in the back of your card and getting them to walk you threw it. That would be your best bet if it's not working as it should be.
