I'm having a strange issue when I try to use Apple Pay. I have a 64g iPhone 6 that I keep in a clear plastic case (this one:http://tinyurl.com/oax6evc ) and AP doesn't work when the phone is in the case. I took my phone to the Apple Store and they ran diagnostics on it. They swapped it out and gave me a new phone, but it's still fussy. It takes my touch ID and says "Hold Near Reader" but doesn't actually go through and make the payment unless my phone is out of the case. Internet, texting, calls, everything else works perfectly fine with the case on. I don't want have to keep taking out of the case to use AP since that'll be super annoying, but otherwise I'm stumped. Anyone have any suggestions?

IF it IS your case you should be able to turn your phone with the screen facing the reader for just a second should work? Try and see. Your case, unless made of metal should not interfere with the NFC signal.

Is it one particular retailer and terminal or all?

All. Every retailer seems to have a different style of reader, and it's never just worked for any of them.

Newtons Apple, I'll have to try the screen down idea. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Quick update: I tried it yesterday and it would perfectly. Tried it again today, and it was a bit slow, but went through as I was turning it over so the screen would be facing the reader. I'm wondering if it works better when it's a bit further away. Has anyone noticed a pattern?

Odd that your plastic case would interfere with the NFC. I have my 6 Plus in an otterbox commuter and have never had a problem. That said, it does have a hole in the back to feature the Apple logo as well as a hole for the camera/flash/microphone assembly.

My phone is in a Spigen case and I have had no issues with Apple pay working. Must be something in the material of the case you have. Can you try a different case?
