I'd say the same to your post.

Apple has already worked with Japan for NFC for public transit ... mid 2018.
Apple is already working with Chicago, NYC and San Francisco for NFC in transit payment systems ... have you not been reading their press releases or their announcements in the past 12 months?

My post about ApplePay being a power move is on point. Apple hasn't given up and is working openly with banks. Even Australia, who's financial governing body had initially rejected ApplePay for months (I'd say close to a year) finally resolved that issue and it's at 98% implementation there! Is that not a power move for you?
Samsung Pay
Google Pay
^ how many countries and retailers, banks and credit payment systems (American Express, MasterCard, etc) do they support on a global scale?

EDIT:
IF you're talking about Interac ... lol .. not compatible in the USA; which is a big deal for me being a Canadian. Furthermore, any cash Kiosk system can charge you ANY rate (legally; at least in Canada) for this.

You completely missed my point, you said "Yes Power move!"
If you left out "Yes" I would not even bother to reply, the YES implies you are affected, it doesn't, you're Canadian.

I said open (NFC), not in just a few cities.

I'm affected as I invest in Apple's stock .. good news usually improves hence today's update. ;)
Location should NEVER affect what region a service by a company is offered ... nobody stays in one place forever in this world ... I can easily travel and use this service vs dumb traveller's cheques. So indirectly yes I'm affected should I choose to travel there at some point. So closed minded.

That I'll give you

Right now you are Canadian, the above is irrelevant now.
Has nothing to do with travelling, moving over to another country and getting a local bank will, but again, that wasn't my point now, not some time in the future.

So closed minded.

Nope.

A

After launching 4 years ago?!!
Yes. Because Rome wasn’t built in a day. Nor was an entirely new banking platform rolled out to tens of thousands of banks, each with their own policies and way also of doing business, in 200 countries, each with their own regulations and laws.

Good grief.

YEs you are closed minded.
Yes at any time I can travel anywhere across the globe I have the funds. So it's relevant when it's available. You think in such rigid terms enjoy that life.

No such "financial governing body" has interfered with any ability for Apple to roll out Apple Pay here in Australia.

Several of the major banks sought approval from the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) to Negotiate as a block of Banks instead of individually for access to the NFC hardware in iPhones which failed.

The lack of bank support until recently was entirely all the banks doing nothing to do with any government organization or regulator. This process while it was ongoing never interfered with Apple's ability to roll out Apple Pay other than the banks refusing to sign a deal.

Three of the big four banks were holding out after they took failed ACCC action in till recently where the biggest of the big three holdouts has now buckled to market pressure and is supporting Apple Pay and is now been touting how great the numbers are in local news media.

You're explaining exactly what I'm talking about. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) pretty much governs how the national banks in Australia can conduct business (consumer/private/corporate). According to Wikipedia ... "Its mandate is to protect consumer rights, business rights and obligations, perform industry regulation and price monitoring and prevent illegal anti-competitive behaviour." In my mind if they can restrict the major banks from colluding or working together to stop ApplePay for their reasons and access to the NFC chip for their own wallet payment/transaction systems ... I'd say, in my personal opinion, that's a governing body that overseas/controls the banks. Look at the progress now.

Technically YES you're right, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) had not interfered with Apple Pay role out in Australia. Had to run back to good ol internet research for this.

The article:
Australian Regulators Prevent Banks From Collectively Bargaining With Apple Over Apple Pay
https://www.macrumors.com/2017/03/30/banks-denied-collective-apple-pay-bargaining/

Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac Banking Corporation, National Australia Bank, and Bendigo and Adelaide bank had asked for permission to collectively bargain with Apple and boycott Apple Pay
