Is it possible to make a custom Mac (or refurb order) from within an Apple store but use Apply Pay to pay for it?

I'm trying to use the Discover deal.

From reading other posts here my understanding is the Discovery special offer is only available in store.

I think that's exactly what he is asking, he wants to know if he physically go into the Apple store if he can order a custom build or refurbish item. (in this case Apple Pay = NFC)

I'm curious about that as well.

I don't think it's going to happen. I chatted with Apple and they said it's up to the store to get a device from the warehouse without it being paid for.

So I chatted with a business rep at my local store who said they can't accept payment for a refurb because it's not in their system. (Even if I returned it and bought it again right away).

Then I asked if I could do that with a customized Mac Pro or iMac, again they said no, I'm not sure why but whatever.

They did say sometimes they have different configured models in the store that don't show up on the website so I gave him my min. specs and hope I hear back before the end of the year.

Thanks, I'm still on the fence about getting a new Mini, maybe I'll give my Apple Store a try. I don't see why you can't though, do they simply assumed everybody is as knowledgeable at choosing a configuration by themselves?

I think it's probably more to do with accounting - that a store can't layout for a model they don't have in their system or something like that.

It's possible, I'll check this weekend and give you some feedback.
