for all the British Macrumorians;

I have my iPhone 7 with Apple Pay, (working fine at all retailers) but rejected on tube and city busses. I registered my account online with the card on my phone to no luck. It's an American Visa card from Chase.

Any ideas to fix?

US-issued Visa cards don't work for TfL (because they have a required payment feature not enabled). Mastercards (and I believe Amex?) do work.

Ah, so that explains why it wouldn't work for me either a few weeks ago.

I believe only physical US Amex cards w/Contactless work, not Apple pay Amex cards.

May 2017 - I and my gf both have capital one quicksilver cards (from the US), the only difference is that her's is Mastercard and mine is Visa. Guess who's works? The mastercard. Mine will work at retailers with Apple Pay but not the transit. So don't plan on US Visa cards working. You can still obviously buy an oyster card with your credit card at a kiosk however - just less convenient though.
