Apple Pay notification

when I preordered my iPhone 7, I used Apple Pay through the Apple Store app. Normally when I purchase something with Apple Pay (other retailers for instance) I get an Apple Pay notification showing me the charges. I noticed I didn't get a notification after I preordered. Is this because I haven't been charged yet? I'll get the notification when the phone ships?
 
You normally aren't charged until the device ships. Expect the notification right before it ships.
 
I paid with Apple Pay as well. I didn't get a notification, but I can see it in Wallet and as pending on my credit card.

Received an Apple Pay notification about 2 hours ago. After that, I checked my Apple.com order as well as my credit card account. My Apple order is now "Preparing for Shipment" and the pending charge appears on my credit card.

I see that on mine too but when I check my bank account online it hasn't even pinged it yet (granted, mine wont for some time. Gobble, gobble) but I would think there would be at least a pending showing that disappears in a couple days then charges when shipped. That's how it's gone down in the past.
 
i think a charge will only show through apple pay once apple starts to preparing for shipment,

i paid with apple pay as well last night to pre order my iphone 7 plus and i dont see anything on my credit card balance online nor do i see anything in the apple pay app, i have a delivery date of oct 4-10 so im not expecting to see a charge till something like say around oct 1 perhaps
 
Yeah I see my Next taxes under my recent transactions and I can see i have been charged but my status is still processing. I'm sure it will change sooner or later.

At least I'll know my Apple Watch is arriving Friday.
I have a t mobile one block from work. I may try waiting in line for a phone
