Hello All

I got the Apple Watch 3 for Christmas, and trying to use it and like it - although having some fundamental issues with it.

One of my big gripes is Apple Pay, paying on the watch is simple - but there is no transaction history? The transactions also do not appear in the Wallet on the iPhone - thus leaving no trace of transactions on the Watch?? This is really annoying when trying to re-trace what I spent and where??

Any ideas?

It is not presently possible to view your Apple Pay transaction history on Apple Watch. Confirmation of transactions is provided in due course via your card / bank statements (as it would be if you were using the payment card directly).

Apple Pay does not collect any transaction information that can be tied back to you. Payment transactions are between you, the merchant (or the app developer for payments made within apps) and your card issuer.

If you have the same payment card added to Apple Pay on an iPhone or iPad, then it is possible that payments made via that same card on your watch may be included in the transaction history (the last 10 transactions) that is shown within the Wallet app on your other device(s). Depending on your card issuer:
You might see only transactions made with that device, or;
You might see all transactions made using that payment card account (including usage via Apple Pay across all devices and usage of the actual card).

When you view a card in the Wallet app (by tapping on the card), the most recent transaction will be shown beneath the picture of the card. To see the last 10 transactions, next tap on the "i" icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.

If you would prefer that transaction history was available on your watch, you can let Apple know here:

I use Natwest bank in the UK and get full transaction history on my iPhone.
However, it appears that no transaction history from my watch appears on the iPhone?
Can anyone else in the UK confirm? This seems crazy!

Huh - just looked in my Wallet app on my phone and my watch charge from yesterday at Tesco is not in my tx history for the card on my phone... I thought they showed up there as well. I wonder if it's because the watch and phone are technically separate "cards" for the purposes of Apple Pay as they have different device IDs? I would still want to see those charges somewhere ideally (even though they do show up in my Cap One app and statement of course).

Both my bank and credit card post "pending" transactions immediately, I check them all the time, not ncessary to make iPhone/Watch more complicated. Use Bank/CC Apps with FaceID to see transactions.

I love the way I get a notification on my phone when I use ApplePay with my phone. It allows me to go back and reconcile that in my budgeting app. Unfortunately, using ApplePay on the watch does not generate a notification (either on the phone or on the watch) and therefore I must hang on to my receipt or login to my banking app a minute later when I have a moment to enter it into my budgeting app. Having a notification would be really useful.

Yes this is correct although I bank with Halifax. Transaction history on my iPhone but nothing shows if I use my watch. It’s been that way since Apple Pay launched.

One of my cards shows me ALL transaction history whether its from my watch, phone, physical card, online, etc. My other card shows me NO transaction history in the Wallet app.

I don't pay attention to either if I want to see transaction history I just look in their respective apps.
