Is anyone having trouble in the UK with Apple Pay since updating to the new OS? I'm with Santander, I'm also using 9.1.

I'm on OS2 with 9.1 beta on my phone with Natwest and I used it today on a vending machine without any trouble and lots of times throughout the beta and quite a few times since the public release a few days ago, tried re-pairing?

I had some trouble using it in Lidl, but the cashier thought it might be the terminal. Used it in Boots later that day with no trouble.

no problem Subway, Bargain Booze, Nandos.

Lloyds Bank 9.0, 2.0

Anyone any idea when Tescos & One Stop will be apple pay outside M25.
Someone did post all Tescos would be contactless by Christmas. With 88 days to go is it fair to say that post is wrong?- as new terminals would be needed and that is quite an undertaking with 3,500 stores plus the rest of the group less London.

Cheers

Okay thanks guys, I was in kfc, bit of an embarrassment when people around you know you've paid a fair bit for the watch and you go to pay with it and it doesn't work.

if your watch has 'Ready...' and they accept contactless surely it must be a problem with their terminal.

I always ask 'Do you take contactless'? or 'Can I pay by contactless?'

Someone in MacDonalds had to press something on the terminal when they realised I wanted to pay by apple pay.

Perhaps it was KFC employee not clicking something.

(I may go back to KFC now they are 'red tractor', but I doubt it, I like Nandos so much, plus Nandos do take outs & an iOS app).

I had trouble today. Having used Apple Pay many times in Waitrose in the past, today it did not work and I got a message on the watch saying "Updating cards, Apple Pay will be available when completed". I used a card as I did not know how long this would take or what it meant. The cards are showing as normal on the watch now so I presume it will work!

Umm don't know, the girl on the desk did say hang on, pressed something and said try again, I tried again but it was still declined, so paid with the card in the end, haven't dared use it since I'll try it again next time it's available

WatchOS 2 and 9.0 and now 9.1 betas, Lloyds, no issues.

I've found that some people don't "hit the button" for the contactless terminal to work as they are waiting for you to pull your card out :) I've had to prompt them... "Is this contactless?"

It usually lasts about 5 seconds. Coming out of it and going back in will work.

This wasn't at Paperchase or B&M by any chance? Both places are unable to process online contactless (I.e. contactless that contacts the bank) but can process offline contactless (Where it doesn't contact the bank, like actual contactless cards).

pret no problem, assistant 'thats cool' Chester.
John Lewis dont offer apple pay and are 'not likely to due to customer demographics'.

Why then do Waitrose (same group) offer apple pay ?please can someone explain this? as the 'limit' can be raised if the £30.00 is too low

I had issues today in boots. I have used my watch there before with os1, tried today with os2 and watch said ready but nothing happened. I pulled my phone out and paid with that and worked first time so it was definitely the watch. I have also noticed that in other stores like McDonalds, wilkinson I have had problems and I thought it was just the terminal but actually I think it's os2 as used them there before no problems before the update.

No it's not there are definitely issues, I am not sure how to raise this with Apple for them to investigate. I deleted my card and re added so will try again tomorrow in the same shop and see what happens.

The worst thing is that John Lewis are actually selling the devices (Apple Watch and iPhone) to make Apple Pay payments.
I would have thought their customers would be likely to use the service as they tend to be quite happily spend a bit of money.

I've had the watch fail two or three times so far. Once was in Co-Op last week and a couple of times in Costa. The strange thing is it has worked in the same exact branches every other time. All three times I had to take my phone out to pay and i felt a bit uneasy as there were people waiting in line. I rather use my watch as it's far more convenient and it's one of the reasons I got it. I will continue to use the watch and hope it just doesn't happen again.

That's bizarre! I'd have rated John Lewis right up there with Selfridges in the likely to use Apple Pay demographic stakes.
