Has anyone managed to get this working? Wells fargo uses a "Wells Fargo Verify" app to verify the card, but I've yet to get my card verified and I've seen on the internet that I'm not the only on with this issue. Have any well fargo customers successfully verified their cards?

Did you use the app or the phone number?

How long did it take?

Did you receive the notification from passbook or did the card's status just change all of a sudden?

I was able to activate a Wells Fargo VISA Debit Card without any additional requirements for verification. Scanned the card and added security code was all it required.

I did not need the App. Don't have it installed.

I used the app and got both my Wells Fargo Visa debit and credit cards working. Not right away, but within about 15 minutes of using the Verify app.

I had an issue at first with the verify app when trying to insert my last four digits to my number. Figured out it was the 3rd party keyboard causing the issue.

damn :(

Did you receive the push notification?

I still haven't gotten mine verified :'(

I received Passbook notifications.

I use the default keyboard but I had a problem too. After I typed each number the keyboard would disappear. I would have to tap the entry box for the next number in order for the keyboard to reappear.

I waited about 2 hours and didn't get anything so I called Wellsfargo who forwarded me to their online department or something. Anyways they got me up and going in no time flat. Number for those intrested: 877-929-5211

Update:

I eventually had to call Wells Fargo, who have special Apple Pay technicians available for setup. He transferred me to this number: +1 (877) 929 5211

After speaking to the guy, he activated a switch or something and I got a push notification instantly and my device confirmed that the card had been verified for Wells. Hope this helps anyone else with these issues!

Waiting for Verification

I used the app and got a notification that it worked, but Passbook still doesn't show it as verified. A couple hours later I got an email from Wells Fargo confirming it's setup also, which states among other things:

If you did not make this request, or if you do not see your card added to your mobile device within 24 hours, please call us at the toll-free number on the back of your card.

I don't have any urgent need to use it, so I'll wait until tomorrow and if it's still not verified in passbook I'll give them a call.

Another strange error. Does anyone else have this?

In the Passbook & Apple Pay settings, you can tap your card and usually see link to the app associated with your bank. (In the screenshots posted on the front page of MacRumors, the suggested app is the Wells Fargo mobile banking app)

However, on my device, I see a link to the Wells Fargo Verify app, despite having my card verified. I've tried deleting the verify app to no avail.

I used the Wells Fargo Verify app. I don't use their mobile banking app and it didn't suggest using it when I setup the card.

I had tried the verify again after receiving the email. Now I just got a second notification and Passbook now shows it as verified. All set!

I'm seeing the same thing as you despite getting an e-mail from Wells Fargo five hours ago saying that the card was added to Apple Pay. I first tried the WF Verify app and that thing is kludgy as hell. I had to disable my third-party keyboard and re-enable the Apple stock keyboard (thanks to the poster in this thread for that tip!) just to be able to tap "Submit" after I entered the last four digits of my mobile number. Got that submitted and the Verify app said it was processing my request.

I then called WF and the CSR asked me the last four digits of my mobile number and told me that he was going to push the verification through but that it could take up to an hour to go through. That was about 25 minutes ago. Still waiting.

It's strange because I got the e-mail from WF when I first enrolled the WF card saying that the card was enrolled in Apple Pay, Passbook says the WF card is ready to use with Apple Pay, yet when I tap the little "i" shows me the WF Verify App on top. I suspect that once my card is verified, I'll see the main Wells Fargo app instead of the Wells Fargo Verify app when I tap the little "i" in Passbook?

Leave it to Wells Fargo to complicate what should be an easy process. I have two other cards with two other banks and those cards were verified immediately using a random code that was e-mailed to me that I entered into the banks' respective apps.

I put two WF cards in my passbook today, used the WF verify app to verify both of them at about 11:30 am EDT. Passbook still does not show them as verified (as of 3:55 pm EDT).

My wife and I share a checking account. She was able to add hers no problem without any verification.

I have to go through verification and it is a nightmare. I've tried it like 4 times now and nothing.

From what I can tell, there are several possible outcomes with Wells Fargo:

1) you add your card, no verification is required, all set to go

2) you add your card, verification is required, you use the app, after a few minutes you get a notification, all set to go

3) you add your card, verification is required, you use the app, nothing ever happens

4) you add your card, verification is required, you use the app, nothing happens, you call the special wells fargo Apple Pay number, you're all set (Wells Fargo app is showing, not verify app)

5) you add your card, verification is required, you use the app, nothing happens, you call the special wells fargo Apple Pay number, you're questionable set( Wells fargo verify app shows instead of mobile banking app)

Not ammused, Wells.

Serves you right for getting married in the first place. ;)

I think the link to the Verify app is shown no matter what. It doesn't necessarily mean that the card actually needs to be verified.

They seem to use the phone number as the first verification method. If they have your iPhone's number on file, they will register the card right away and it will say "card is ready for Apple Pay" (this is how it worked for my WF debit card). Only if it says something like "verification needed" instead will you need to use the app.

I tried using the app to verify 6 hours ago. Still not verified. I called wellsfargo support about 3 hours ago, they said it will just take another hour. And still not verified. ;(

I wish the online banking agent I just spoke with had told me that. She had absolutely no clue why I was still seeing the link to the WF Verify app even though the card said it was activated. She put me on hold and said she tried contacting Apple but no one was responding. Yeah, right.

guys, what exactly is the mobile number in the verification process? I can't figure it. the four digits one.

i've been waiting 3 hours to get verified. I've used the app and called the number in Passbook for Wells Fargo. I'll try the number listed here next.

Let us know how that works for you. I can't call right now but nothing else seems to work. Why can't Wells Fargo just be a normal bank and let us use verification codes? We shouldn't have to use an app that doesn't work, call someone who doesn't know what they're doing, and finally find a number that might work on an Internet forum.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
