Apple Pay Hell

OK, I have two card from banks that support Apple Pay, or so you'd think. Ends up they don't. WHAT?!?!?! Yes, they don't. Apparently they don't care about higher security or customer ease of transactions. This is an outrage, and totally unacceptable. When are these banks going to wake up! (yeah, I know I know....)

Turns out only "certain cards" are supported. Probably due to fees and associated user agreements etc etc. This was supposed to be a good thing, security and all, but turns out the banks are using it to arm twist their customers. I'm not happy.

Let us know how that works for you. I can't call right now but nothing else seems to work. Why can't Wells Fargo just be a normal bank and let us use verification codes? We shouldn't have to use an app that doesn't work, call someone who doesn't know what they're doing, and finally find a number that might work on an Internet forum.

Finally got my card verified by calling 877-929-5211, Wells Fargo Online Supprt. There is a recording that they are experiencing a high volume of calls (go figure), so I had to wait about 15 minutes. But once you're talking to a representative everything gets completed and I got a push notice I was verified before I hung up. He said the high volume of requests today is responsible for the delay using the Verify App.

Now off to Walgreens to see if it truly works :)

After setup with my WF debit/VISA. I downloaded WF verify app. Completed instructions. I received an email with the title " Wells Fargo card added to Passbook for Apple Pay" So now I guess I'm good to go.

Verified, I'd been trying to get my card verified for more than 8 hours finally called the number listed in this thread and literally the moment I hung up I got a passbook notification saying card is verified and ready to use!! Thanks guys!

FYI, after more than 5 hours I just received a belated confirmation email from WF that my debit card has been enrolled for Apple Pay. As I mentioned above, I never used the Verify app, the card was simply verified right away.

It's interesting that the email refers to my phone number as "device number". I wonder what device number they will use if you enroll the card on a Wifi-only iPad Air 2 which doesn't have a phone number ...

Yeah same here, the verify app wasn't working so I ended up calling the number everyone is providing in the thread and they got it up and working in no time.

Does anyone know how to distinguish between different cards?

I have 3 WF Visa Debit cards (one for each business I have). All 3 cards have the same passbook card look and the only difference is the last 4 digits. Will I just have to memorize the last 4 of my cards?

I was able to activate a Wells Fargo VISA Debit Card without any additional requirements for verification. Scanned the card and added security code was all it required.

Likewise.

I suspect it may be because my card was already the one I use in iTunes. Was yours?

EDIT: (I also have it set up in the WF mobile app).

I called the number provided earlier in this thread, a human picked up immediately, asked me some questions, and it was working instantly. :)

Success Finally!

It's the last 4 digits of your cell phone number.

(xxx) yyy-ZZZZ. ZZZZ is the number you want to enter.

After approximately 12 hrs of runarounds I finnally succeeded! After going through the Wells Fargo verifying process I received an email that my Wells Fargo card was "Added to Passbook for Apple Pay." When I looked in my Passbook my card still showed as needing verification.
I then called 877-929-5211 and gave them the 4 digit "Digital Card #" that was noted in the email I received. Almost instantly I received a notice that my card was activated. I checked my Passbook and my card is active and ready for use.
So, wait until you get the confirmation email and then call the # to get it added. Hope this helps for others as I was not having fun for a while with this crazy process!

Mine works fine. I have the WF Debit Visa Card. Maybe it was because my card was already linked to my iTunes account so I didn't need to scan or enter my card information

I tried it all kinds of ways....My card is also linked to iTunes and it would not work whether I used the linked card OR set it up as a new card.
All I know is I used the way I listed earlier and I'm now up and running. I hope others are successful as well.

Mine finally worked after about 16 hours. I used the verify app and got an email about 6 hours later saying my card was added to Apple Pay. About 10 hours after that, I finally got the notification from Passbook that I was verified.

I didn't need to call the number. My advice is to just be patient and do not delete the card and start over. If you don't want to wait, it seems that calling the number in this thread works too.

Calling that number worked. Instant answer, a couple of questions, 2 minutes later I get the confirmation notification while still on the call with him.

Had tried calling the regular number that it says on the app to no avail for two days.

Gotta love Wachovia. I scanned my card, and that was the only verification I needed. I downloaded the app just in case but received a notification before even having to use the app.
