Has anyone been able to successfully add a Citi Card to Apple Pay? I'm able to get to the final verification step and it says to contact Citi. I thought their cards were supported?

You need the verification code. I don't think they were anywhere near prepared for this. I added my card, attempted text verification, but never got a text. Now on hold for phone verification. Been on the line over 15 minutes.

They've now removed text verification as an option.

They support it but are overwhelmed by verification requests.

Apple pay - Citi Verify - Landline???

After waiting for about 30 minutes, Citi representative mentioned, They need to verify the account with a "Land Line" hmmm... That is surprising... Just for this I need to get a landline now?

No problems with AAdvantage, Platinum Select, and Citigold debit cards. Added and working with no verification steps (probably because phone number matches and one was already my iTunes card).

I could not activate my Citi card either, called they said severs are over whelmed
and to call back tomorrow. On a side note, they said I would have to call Citi Bank again and activate the card via them not the app, so you might want to wait before calling.

I did a Citi and Capital One card without any need for authorization beyond just putting in the info and submitting it.

I was unable to add my Citi card this afternoon. Never got the confirmation code text/call. I tried to get it to resend my confirmation text about an hour ago though, and it finally worked.

Weird that some of us had to have apps and/or verification codes. Like I said, I added 2 cards without any extra authorization.

I'm getting the "could not add card" message trying to add my son's simplicity. Had no trouble earlier today adding my double cash.

I got the same message about contacting the provider when trying to add my Citi Card. I was on hold with Citi for some time and finally got a rep who stated that she was told that I cannot activate via Apple Pay because I have a AT&T Universal branded card, and that at this time AT&T branded cards are not an option. Basically she kindly said I am SOL until they add the option for this card in the future. :(

I got the "could not add card" error as well. I think Citi is getting slammed today with everyone trying to add cards. Will try again tomorrow.

While the bank may support it, the "card" may not. I've got two cards, one from City and another from Capital. Both do not work. I'm screaming "FRAUD" at this time due to their lack of information and seemingly false information on support. Apple is very much at fault for misleading it's customers on what they support!

Nope, won't work. Not all Citi cards work. Just a select few. Make sure to voice your displeasure with them very loudly.

Activate pd all my cards but the Citi Rewards. Called them and they said I need to call from the registered landline. I told them I wouldn't be there for days. They said sorry nothing they could do for me.

Citibank Screwed Up

I sat on hold with Citibank for over 25 minutes before they answered the phone when I tried to add my Citibank card to ApplePay. The customer service rep told me that their system was broken and that nobody has been able to register. I tried confirming by text and that didn't work either. The customer service rep told me that the text method was broken too. I told the rep that Apple customers expected things to work and that if we were okay with things that didn't deliver on the promise that we would be with Microsoft instead of Apple. Try again in a few days and Citibank will likely have their act together.

I can't get my ThankYou card to register either. It just says it is unable to register the card and to try again later, so I guess I will... all my other cards were registered without a problem.

Mine didn't even require any verification unlike my other cards from different companies.

have my citi debit card and credit card added without any issues. but couldn't get my citi best buy credit card to be added. maybe they're still working on that one. citi also sent me like 10 of the same emails saying that my debit card was added to apple pay.

I was having trouble activating my Citi Double Cash card. It was forcing me to call Citi and wait on hold. I deleted the card from Apple Pay, reentered it and it activated automatically in less than 30 seconds! I would suggest trying that for those who are struggling.
