Apple Pay without your Iphone?

I don't know if this is already known. But this came as a big shock when I found out that I don't need my Apple watch connected to my phone to use Apple Pay.

I was at Panera Bread and I forgot my phone in my car. So I tried anyways to use my watch and it worked!!!

I'm in Awe. That feature alot is worth it. I wonder if Apple, Similar to encrypted area to store credit card information, has created a similar location on the Watch.

Yep. The watch has its own device ID and works for ApplePay without the phone.
