It is my understanding that Apple Pay does not transmit any personal data to the vendor, all they see is a transaction number, so they can not track your purchases or who you are. I use AP primarily with my apple watch, fast and secure. Started in August 2019 without any problems.

I’ve been using Apple Pay several times a day since 2016 as all my shop purchases under £100 are paid this way. It’s faster and safer than using an actual card so do not fear.

Use ApplePay all the time with my debit card and with 3 credit cards... I've never had an issue... safe and secure... your actual debit/credit card number is never exposed to the retailer... part of the process is to use randomized single use numbers generated on a per-transaction basis.

Nope, other than readers that for some reason won't work with it. Happened a bit initially, now rather rare.

I find out for some websites payment, doesn’t work with Chrome in payment process but works fine with Safari.

There is conflicting information about support for the required API in other browsers. Some say only Safari is supported, which makes sense with its integration in the Apple Eco System. Other references say that Chrome works. Did a test on a website that supports Apple Pay. Only shows Apple Pay option in Safari:

in Chrome or Firefox ApplePay is replaced with Google Pay:

so in this one case it is either Apple Pay or Google pay that is supported, but which one is available is dependent on the browser.
