I love these Apple ads. Funny thing is, I never really noticed them until after I had already purchased my Mac. Wonder if others really switch to Mac because of these ads.

I second what you have said. I know vanmacguy said it was a large part of his switchover and that's fair comment but I just wanted to contribute a little.

BTW... your avatar is cracking!

what I found most interesting about the ad is they have photos of a sheep and McCain on the newswire page....so PC users are republicans who follow the masses and Mac users are...?

...all democrats who love Al Gore. You assume.

It's funny because it's true. :p

I recently downgraded from Vista to XP on my gaming rig since after a year on the market, Vista still sucks.

As much as i like the ads, i find them getting too repetitive. Almost all of the most recent ads keep saying the same thing, "Vista Sucks, go to OS X".

I mean, why not show off something different, like the accelerometer in the Macbooks.

For Example,

Mac, is like "Hello, I'm a mac", and PC is like "...Where am i?" After some random chitchat, Mac finds out PC lost all of its data, due to damage to the hard drive. Then Mac's all like "Well, all macbooks have an accelerometer in them that will stop the hard drive if your computer falls" or something.

Come'on Apple, think different...

a lot of laptops have that... more high end ones.

I didn't realize it was just the current Onion home page but it certainly does fit into the stereotype of PC users = republicans....however I don't think even many democrats love Al Gore anymore...

Republi-tard Mac user here.
But I'm also black, so I guess I don't fit ANY stereotypes.

I completely agree with you guys. The "Get a Mac" ads are still good, but not as great as they used to be. I'm pretty sure people already know that Vista sucks and OS X is more advanced, so now they need to showcase hardware features.

Congratulations on two unsuccessful posts at trying to shoehorn culture wars rubbish into ads that have nothing to do with politics .

On topic: I like it :D. The web ads are a little fresher than the TV spots.

Even though I hate the idea behind these commericials (pretending that a "pc" can only run windows, and exagerating windows related problems) I have to admit that they are really funny, thanks to John Hodgman.
