Just got an Apple Pencil for my iPad Air 4. Absolutely love it!! Use it mostly with GoodNotes 5. My question is: Do most of you always keep the Pencil magnetically attached all the time. Seems like it would fall off a lot when watching videos or playing games. If not where do you keep it when not attached to the iPad? Thanks.

Also, is it ok to keep the pencil attached when charging the iPad overnight?

I always keep the Pencil on my iPad. It's not a problem to keep it on your iPad while charging overnight, they are designed to be constantly charged.

For the few times I'm worry that my Apple Pencil could fall off while I use the iPad, I put it on my desk or in my backpack. You can also buy some third-party cases that have a dedicated spot for your Apple Pencil, which prevent it to fall off.

For this reason, I use folio case with Apple Pencil holder on the left rather than right side. Not sure whether there will be a difference, but my understanding is battery is battery, which wouldn‘t be ideal if it kept always charging.

Not on my iPad mini 6 because it makes the iPad hard to hold especially when typing in portrait. It is usually nearby though. I almost always take it with me when I take the mini and it is either in a pocket or attached.

Sure, why wouldn’t it be? Apple wouldn’t design the charger to overcharge the Pencil.

I would love to keep it always attached for the sake of convenience, however, magnets on it/inside iPad are on the weaker side so it wont always stay put. Not that Im shaking it violently or anything, but magnets on my gf's Surface Book+Surface pen are much stronger and safer to keep pencil attached to laptop most of the times.

PS. Im using thin case on mine which has been designed to allow charging pencil, but still, even without the case magnets could have been stronger.
