Having tested it with a screen protector myself now, I must note, the pencil starts to jitter when making straight lines at medium speed. Without the protector there is minimum jitter. Also the touch screen becomes a lot less responsive, so I might consider doing without a screen protector.

I just ordered a Ballistic Glass TechArmor screen protector for my new iPad pro. Any references on that one? I haven't been able to find out how thick the protector is.

Thanks

So, I tried the TechAmour Matte screen protector, and two observations: (1) it feels great for writing (2) looks like trash. Everything looks dull on the screen. I'll probably take it off, but am not sure if the clear protector will allow it to feel any different than the screen itself. Any other ideas for screen protection?

Their products costs a bit more but you're getting quality and great customer service.

Here's a tip. The 10 dollar glass protectors work just as well as the overpriced name brands. I have used them all and have found there is never a reason to spend more than 10-15 dollars on a glass screen protector from the name brands. They are just as clear, just as hard, and do the SAME job. The name brands make you think they glass is of higher quality. They are not. Save some money.

I purchased the Moshi iVisor AG Anti Glare screen protector because I bought the IPP primarily for drawing and haven't been enjoying drawing on glass. Now, I couldn't be happier. I had the Moshi installed in under a minute and later removed it and re-installed it to remove a piece of dust I could feel but not see. For me, the matte texture makes a much better surface for drawing with the Pencil than the iPad glass. I also love that it is anti-glare and anti-fingerprint, and if there is any reduction in clarity, I don't notice it. I'm actually a little amazed at how smooth and clean the screen looks.

Prior to the Moshi, I had the Tech Armor ballistic glass and that is a great screen protector if you're looking for a clean, clear, glass protector that is barely noticeable. The only trouble with the Tech Armor for me at all was that it was so much like the IPP glass I didn't enjoy drawing on it.

So, after owning two screen protectors here's my two cents: If you want to use the IPP for drawing or writing and are looking for a screen protector that is anti-glare and resistant to fingerprints, the Moshi is worth the $35. If you are looking for a screen protector that very closely resembles the iPad screen, you can't go wrong with the Tech Armor ballistic glass at $15.

Well in the short time I've had my Pro and Pencil it's had a TeckNet Crystal Clear screen protector, Tech Armour Matte/Anti-Glare screen protector and now it's fitted with a EasyAcc Tempered Glass screen protector. (The first temporary case I got for my Pro while I was waiting on my skin, destroyed the first screen protector. And the Matte ones were just a temporary solution until my tempered glass one arrived.)

All of them have had no impact on the performance of the Pencil that I can detect. In fact I kind of liked the feel of the Matte screen protector with the Pencil, it had a little more friction to it than just glass or clear screen protectors do and added to the pen on paper feel just a little bit. So much so that I'm seriously considering ditching the tempered glass one and going back to the Matte screen protector for the feel.

I just wanted to give a warning - I always buy tempered glass screen protectors for my iPhone and have had excellent results, but when I tried the same brands for my iPad, over and over again, they just crack. Seems like they're just too thin. The iPad is fine - it has no impact, but it's really annoying to see cracks in your screen protector. Wondering if anyone here has had a glass screen protector not crack over a period of several months?

I use a glass protector on my iPhone but prefer a film protector on the iPad. I have the Power Support crystal clear and it works great with the Pencil.

Hey @skinnerband thanks for the post. I'm looking into this glass protector for the iPad Pro. Here is the thing, I like the anti-glare screen for drawing, but I Like the glossy glass for everything else. I know that the iVisor is supposed to be reuseable -- do you think it's something that can be put on for drawing only and then taken off? What are your thoughts?

I have not taken mine off so I can't say for sure, but I think they advertise that the protector can be taken off and washed then reapplied repeatedly. Personally I would be reluctant to take it on and off too many times as it is flimsy by design and I'd be afraid of creasing it. I suppose if you're very careful you could get away with it. Having said that, I've had it for more than a year and it's still in great shape and I still recommend it!
