iPad Pro Apple Pencil magnet question

Anyone else notice that you can lay the Pencil a bit off center to the magnet? it doesn’t charge and the magnet grasp is not as strong.

It’s only when you line it up perfectly that there is a solid thud and grab. Anyone else?

Yep, same thing on my 12.9. You gotta hit the sweet spot. But, you definitely know when you get it.

Even when it grabs solidly, there is a slight rotational wobble on mine (if I try to twist it).
