I've had my iPad Pro 12.9 and Apple Pencil 2 for about 14 months.

I went to use my Pencil this morning and...nothing. Not working.
- I "forgot" the pencil and attempted to reconnect: "pairing is taking too long" or something to that effect.
- I reset network settings and now bluetooth won't find the pencil at all.
- I updated to the newest version of iPadOS because I hadn't done that yet (was already on 15.0, updated to 15.1). No change.
- All that happens when I connect the Pencil now is it says "Apple Pencil" at the top of the screen and it flashes between gray and white. No charge level, no ability to connect.

The battery can't be dead, it's never left the iPad.
I've never dropped it, gotten it wet, abused it, or anything of the sort.

Any suggestions before I throw this piece of garbage across the room in pure unabashed rage?

I too am having the exact same issue...except with my iPad Air 4. did you ever figure out a solution? I am fortunately within 12 months so will likely take pencil in to see if they can fix or swap out.

Unfortunately my solution was to fork over another $120.

It had been awhile since I had used my pencil, and I think that it wasn't quite aligned correctly on the magnetic charging strip...a few weeks of no power and boom, dead pencil.

Best of luck.
