Would I be the only one interested in a mini-er iPad mini or a bigger iPhone5?

I know we don't really know anything for sure on either of these but I would be interested in something like the Note II but with an apple slant.

There would be a small market for it (i.e. Samsung Galaxy Note market) but not widespread enough for Apple to get involved in.

no...

making a phone call with a 5.5'' device would just look weird...and retarded.

It could have the same functionality of the iPad instead of the iPhone - and could be closer to 6 inches than 5.

doesn't have to be the same size as the note 2, just more like that crossed with an ipad mini.

Yeah I guess, shame really.

I think it could be really cool.

Hmm...

honestly then Apple should just make the iPad mini 7 inch and not 7.85 inch.

I still see 7.85" as being to big - and 6-7" might be more different from the ip5 and ipad mini.

I guess it would be like a really big iPod touch functionality wise - then you could have cellular options too.

We're seeing loads of iPhone parts + rumours, why nothing on the iPad mini front?

Apple doesn't make products that combine two different usages, they want you to buy more than one product. It's really not something they would get involved in.

You would just have to get both.

i guess it might end up this way but still not sure i agree with you.

iPod + iPhone = iPod touch (apps and music, but no cellular)

What do you mean? Where would be the benefit in Apple releasing something like the Galaxy Note?

I for one can't wait for the iPad Mini, but I wouldn't want something in between.

basically i'm asking for the iPad mini to be smaller than 7.85 or the iPhone five to have a larger model/option.

I also understand that this is highly unlikely.

It seems unlikely that apple's going to make products that look stupid when you talk on them. Obviously, samsung doesn't care, but apple does.

Maybe it'd work if they made the back of the phone look like a shoe?

A apple shoe phone now that is something I would line up to buy:D

I just moved to Korea and so many people have phablets. I keep seeing people with giant giant giant phones and I'm like what is wrong with you.

I think an iPad with cell phone capabilities would be nice. One less device to manage. My recommendation would be that it would only be usable in speakerphone, Bluetooth headset, or wired headset modes.

Id gladly buy a 5+" iPhone. I barely make phone calls and Im not a sensitive tweenage girl so I don't care how silly it looks because in the end it would be a very functional and useful piece of tech that would increase my ability to be productive and enjoy my downtime.

I'm glad you see it that way, I think it would be an interesting idea to try out, apple can afford to give it a go.
