So why do politicians, whom have made millions off of this supposed climate catastrophe, continue building/buying gigantic multi-million dollar homes right on the beach?
Are they not concerned about their precious abode becoming submerged?
Interesting.
That is interesting. I'll admit I hadn't been aware of any politicians doing this (do you have any examples?).
Without knowing specific instances, I can only suppose their thinking is – if they're extremely wealthy as you suggest – that they can afford problems that may arise later down the line, or plan to sell-up/move to another of their properties…
If you were to take politicians out of the equation, and focus on scientists (and I'd say for the avoidance of doubt, scientists without links to lobbying groups that are endemic in the USA), I think you can attain greater clarity around the situation. The 'climate catastrophe' is the kind of thing such scientists are, and have been, warning about because there are numerous indications that our planet's ecosystem balance has been destabilised. Getting such a complex system re-balanced could prove extremely difficult (and might not be achievable before tragedies).
This is not to say that problems are certain. But the more humans do to introduce/persist with destabilising factors, the more
likely there will be negative (and potentially irreversible) consequences for Earth and many people living here.
That's why the scientists warn. I think some politicians take advantage of those warnings in multitudinous ways, intertwining oft-greedy goals with environmental issues so they can profit (at the expense of our home). Along the way, the people they represent can get strung along into supporting untruths, again – to the potential detriment of Earth.
