Apple has ordered "The Crowded Room," a seasonal anthology series that's set to star Tom Holland, Apple announced today. A seasonal anthology series is a show where the characters and the storyline change from season to season, similar to "American Horror Story."

"The Crowded Room" will explore the true and inspirational stories of people who have struggled and learned to live with mental illness. The first season, which has 10 episodes, is described as a "captivating thriller" inspired by "The Minds of Billy Milligan."

The biography tells the story of Billy Milligan, who was the first person ever acquitted of a crime because of multiple personality disorder. Holland will play Milligan in season one, and will serve as an executive producer on the series.

Holland already has a relationship with Apple TV+, having starred in hit film "Cherry," which was released in March.

Apple TV+ is available for $4.99 per month, though many people continue to have free access through a promotion that gives a year subscription with a device purchase. For those not eligible, Apple offers a seven-day free trial.

Tom Holland is a very talented actor. Watched Cherry and enjoyed it, despite the plot line conveying the story of someone making poor decisions and the drama that ensues. This show sounds kinda bleak as well, but I’ll probably give it a go because Holland will bring his A game and that’s worth a lot to me. United States of Tara was based on a character with dissociative identity disorder and it was pretty entertaining. It really highlighted Toni Collettes acting chops.

Besides Ted Lasso, there's not too much on ATV+ that will really keep me once my free year runs out. They need to start upping their content game with a wider variety of movies.

Applying the use of "hit film" pretty liberally I see.
I haven't seen Ted Lasso but I look forward to For All Mankind every Friday and Dickinson was a great series as well, I also watched The Morning Show and started to enjoy it but Season 2 is taking a while.

Greyhound was also a great movie.

Holland definitely made Cherry a good movie, the actor who was the girlfriend 'looked' too young for the part though IMO.

If Apple really wants to be in the Tom Holland business they should buy Sony Pictures. They’d get ”Spider-Man” and “Uncharted”, and plenty of other franchise material. I’d be much more interested in Apple TV+ if they were the exclusive home of Sony content. I may sign up once ”Foundation” is available, but otherwise I have plenty of other, better streaming services.

An Apple TV+ version of American Horror Story with Tom Holland doing his best Evan Peters impression? Bring it on!

I don't think this is a horror fiction show, I think its just an anthology season-to-season like the way AH does their stories. This (for me sadly) another one of those 'true life' mental illness shows.

bring on more scifi, horror, and fantasy and less of this stuff pls.

A lot of people are very talented actors. And I agree that he is one of the best ones besides Dwayne Johnston or Millie Bobby Brown.

I'm a fan of lots of Apple TV, but this one doesn't sound interesting to me. When my free 1+ year runs out I'll do the bundle with Music and hope the content library starts growing more rapidly as Covid gets controlled.

Someone at Apple is in love with Tom Holland.
I’ll count myself in that boat. But, I can’t watch just anything he’s in... I still haven’t given Cherry a chance (and likely won’t).

I agree with another comment— I want more sci-fi and fantasy content!!

See, Mankind, Foundation, Mystic Quest, Morning Show, new material with David Attenborough keep me interested.

Whoa I didn't realize Foundation was out already! I definitely want to watch that.
