Hello people I been to the local Apple Store with my dad yesterday to talk to someone about the apple and my dad agreed to start the apple plan next month for the iPhone 7. My question is how does the apple plan work when preorder starts I want to reserve a phone at the local Apple Store to get it on launch ? I want reserve a phone via the iOS app on preorder date will it give me an option to do that on the iOS app , the online store webs ?

On the date of the pre-order it is midnight pacific time zone, you can use the Apple shopping app to go to Apple.com and fill in the pre-order forum. The last step will ask you if you want to have it delivered to you home or pickup at the local Apple Store! The first question is to pick the model, storage, color and carrier!

Ok it's 3 am est since I'm on the east coast and does it work for the apple plan I'm a new customer to the apple plan

[doublepost=1472143894][/doublepost]I want to do the apple plan as a new customer

We don't know much now since the phone is not even announced.
Slow down and wait till after the official keynote.
They will provide details on how to order, when etc...

Thanks but how was the preorder done if people wanted the apple plan last year for the 6s I'm new to the apple I did AT&T next last year
[doublepost=1472144557][/doublepost]You people can explain better since some of you did the apple plan last year for the launch day iPhone 6s

Doesn't mean it will be the same way as last year.
I will just wait for the release the store only told me my dad need to bring two forms of id and a credit card. I hope someone explain it to me before preorder
[doublepost=1472145384][/doublepost]I really want to do the apple plan and pick up the phone at the store since. It's 10 minutes away . I will keep this active till someone gives me an answer or the Apple event. I really want to know how does this work for preorders ? I'm so confused

I won't be doing AT&T next since the apple rep said the apple plan is way cheaper but my dad wants me to order mine only and he wants to see how my phones goes before he upgrades.

You go online. You select Apple upgrade program. You select your device you want and the carrier you are. You select a time you want to pick it up and click reserve. Very easy.

Keep in mind you can get denied for the Apple Upgrade program, we saw a lot of people here on MR get denied. I don't think anybody ever figured out what exactly the financing company was looking for.

I'd make a backup plan in case this happens.

I don't think it's "a lot cheaper" my SO purchased a 6s+ 64gb and the payment was $42 a month. I can get that same phone on ATT next for $35 a month

You say if on launch date I can't do the apple plan I should I order mine via AT&T next on launch date

Once you get to a physical Apple store to pick up your device and get set up on the plan shipping times will have already slipped.

In my opinion if you already have the ATT account with a line eligible for Next I would order my phone from there as soon as the ATT page is up, minimal risk.

Granted nobody yet knows how this is going to work, we don't, Apple employee's don't etc. It's possible we won't see near as many denials this year, who knows.

How can it be way cheaper? Phone costs the same regardless of what plan you use or pay total up front.

Apple rep at the store said its different

Well they are wrong you will pay the same price via apple plan or the carriers payment plan. The only way the carriers plan will be cheaper is depending on your plan and if you get certain amount of dollars towards a device subsidiary or your a current customer with Verizon or Sprint then you can still get 2 year deal.

I'm also a member of cosco do they have deals for the iPhone

Yes they do but its not a lot, If I remember correctly with the 6/6 Plus launch it was not a lot. But they do have deals on apple care + if I remember right. If you go to costco the morning after pre-orders open then they can tell you what their discounts are but remember that costco does not get much inventory at all in fact they don't usually get the largest capacity phones and those ones are usually ordered threw the carrier so you may not have it day 1. If you must have it day 1 then go threw apple first then your carrier then last stores like best buy, costco or sams club.
