Apple is leasing 45,000 square feet of space in an office building in the Miami area, reports Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The company already has a smaller office space in the Miami area, but is planning to upgrade.

Apple's current Miami location is focused on advertising and Latin America. The upgraded office is located at The Plaza Coral Gables, south of Miami, and it is under construction.

Multiple tech companies have been expanding to South Florida, including Amazon and Microsoft. Apple is also planning to open a new retail store at the Miami Worldcenter in the heart of the city.

Apple has large campuses in California, Washington, and Texas, plus it is building a major campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. Apple also has smaller offices in cities around the world, including Singapore, Germany, Ireland, and Shanghai.

This particular development has been in the local news due to a homeowner who refused to sell his house on the site where it was built.

So it's this massive high rise development with a tiny single family home nestled in the middle of it.

Every time I go cycling in that area I have to stop by and look at it because it's so quirky and weird.

Wait, so in addition to tax evasion, they're going to start smuggling cocaine? 😂

I hate Florida. Given a bunch of tech seems to be moving there I'm assuming the state has cut off its nose to spite its face in the form of ludicrous tax incentives? NY did a 10 year tax hiatus for big companies a while back. As soon as the companies started having to pay *anything* they moved...

How was eminent domain not used here? More Apple presence in Miami is always a good thing.

Since you are increasing your Miami real estate anyway...

Buy the Marlins, Tim. They need help. It can be a potential boost to Apple Sports and would cost you couch money.

I wonder if this means that Apple is really planning to focus on expanding their operations in Latin America? 🤔

Well, with this new office campus, it's either that or they just wanted more Apple employees to understand the wonders of Cubano sandwiches. 😋

I respect this guy. He isn't letting anyone tell him what to do

if they move corp headquarters there will that mean they need pay no state taxes, both in FL and CA?
Not sure about that answer but it is moot, they aren't moving their corporate HQ. While this is a bigger space than they have currently in Miami, it is much smaller than the current HQ.

Another bad idea another way not to control cost they must've hired somebody they really wanted and the only way they would work for them is to spend a lot of money on a useless office.

Apple's presence in Cork, Ireland is massive -- this author is nuts to characterize it as small. I would also guess that their presence in Singapore is larger than their Seattle, WA footprint.
