updated iSync??

How about a sub-notebook or big PDA that automatically syncs via bluetooth with your other Mac(s)

So you have access to songs, pictures, etc.

With the updated iSync coming and Vista dropping the computer to computer sync, this would be a HUGE feature for Apple.

here are the realistic specs im thinkin:

- 2 2.5 Core 2 Duo Processors (return of the quad!)
- 250 (500 BTO) GB Flash drive
- ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 512MB GDDR3 memory
- another 8- 16 GB of ram for the heck of it
- 4 inch screen with 2560 x 1600 optimal resolution
- 1/2" thick
- indestructable
- OSXI

price: $200

(this is the base system btw)

this stuff is a little outdated, but i think people can live with it.

I think the price is wrong, itll be more like $199, makes us feel like we arent spending so much, oh and it has a liquid cooling system?

psh, it's Apple, you need to add two more 0's to the end of that price.

I think it is going to be something like a PDA/cellphone/iPod an all in one and if you need more connectivity or storage just plug the ipod into it or something. I definately think a PDA type unit that will be unbelievable.

A four pounds 12" Mac... Isn't that called a MacBook? Ok the MacBook is 13" but still.

I want something REALLY small but that's still a real Mac. Give me a Nintendo DS Lite-sized ultraportable Mac with a 1.5GHz Intel Core Solo (or something similar that's very light on power requirements), GMA 900 integrated graphics (very low-end model), 512MB built-in (perhaps no extra memory slot either), 800x480 display and no optical drive. But it has to run OS X, not some watered-down, "ultraportable-only" operating system. Add one of those new hybrid flash/HD drive for good measure and a SD card reader built-in for real on-the-go usability for photographers. All those features would make for a real "PDA-killer".

There's already enough heat/mooing/whining issues with almost properly ventilated macbooks/mackbook pros. imagine, a computer that small and much hotter. instead of not being able to use it on your bare lap, you just won't be able to use, maybe with a stick.

stylus?

First more "Touchscreen, non-touch" iPod rumors and now the return of the "iTablet" rumor...is it June or did I somehow slip back to January?

I find myself thinking about an ultraportable from time to time--just something I can read and send email, do some light writing or surf that there interweb with. I'm really of two minds when it comes to the possibility of including a keyboard though. Yes it would help a lot, but then it would take away from the ability to whip it out and interface with the rest of the world.

Btw, it is June, I just saw Ljungberg finally put one away...it's about time.

That's a keen insight. You're right, there would have to be a way to synchronize your data from a "main" computer to take with you. I'd be thrilled if Apple could pull it off.

Apple's Tablet and more

Apple will release a Tablet PC like product. They will also release a wireless version of the mighty mouse, a video iPod, and an iPhone. They will be pulling iTunes from motorola in 2007 and will put the iPhone with Cingular. And for those of you still wondering about asteroid, it was killed by apple and the idea was sold to M-Audio and is now known as 2 different products: iControl and ProjectMix I/O. Asteroid was going to be a mixer for 5 XLR/1/4" inputs with sliders for each input, and was powered by a single Firewire cable. The retail price would have been around $80 US.
